Wonder why there are no Jap cars on this list?

The worst I've owned was a 95 Toyota Carina. I poured so much money into that bitch and finally had to scrap it because it wouldn't pass JCI (compulsory insurance inspection)

The best I've owned was a '01 Honda Integra.

A bit of an odd list. Some of the cars are oddities or more like concept cars. Can't see what his problem is with the Chevette. It sold under the same name in the UK with a 1256cc engine and had the best handling of any small saloon car I have ever driven. I am surprised the 80's Moskvich didn't make the list - that was a truly God awful drive.
    Lord, deliver us from e-mail.

This list shows only one thing: The time magazine doesn't know anything about cars.

There was a similar list on Forbes and they made much more sense.

I was going to say the TR7 was unjustifiably included on there as there were a lot worse cars of it's era, then I read the review and I remembered all the problems. Yes, it was a shit car.

The Triumph Stag was a beautiful car with a shit engine, a later Rover V8 was a better alternative.
In fact, all Triumph engines were shit, the 2 litre unit fitted to the Dolomite Sprint was probably engineered by a monkey. The cylinder head bolts on one side of the block for some unknown-to-this-day reason entered the block on a 5 degree tilt. Even on the drawing board it should have been clear that warping would be an issue. Fcukwits

B Leyland did produce some awful cars in that era. The Marina was a desperate attempt to produce a replacement for the Morris Minor without spending any money. The result was cheap and nasty, the attempt to make it 'sporty' by dropping in the MGB lump (it weighed less than an MGB) was a failure. The revamp to Ital with a new 1700cc engine produced a car that at least didn't make you laugh when you looked at it but the redesign did nothing for the handling which seemed to make it wander all over the road. Sold on the basis of cheapness, their owners often carried the same philosophy to the cars maintenance, and until they rusted away it was fairly common to see Marinas by the side of the road when their unlubricated and neglected front suspension knuckles finally gave up. Incidentally I was told that the Marina was sold in Australia with 2.2 straight six lump taken out of the Austin Princess (another terrible car that is now mercifully extinct) if it is true I'd like to know how it handled and stopped.

As a replacement for the Austin 1100 the Allegro was quite a nice car to drive - once you got rid of that square steering wheel. The Mini and 1100 models could all be jacked up at the front by placing the jack directly under the gearbox casing - the Allegro needed a special frame to do the same thing or the body would distort. There were lots of stories of windscreens popping out.

The A40's replacement, the Maxi, was another good idea car (the forerunner of the hatchbacks) that was flawed by it's 5 speed gearbox. The early models had a cable linkage that made changing gear an experience akin to a lucky dip.

All the BL cars of that time had one fatal flaw, water leaks into the passenger compartment. Garages up and down the country were running service departments on the warranty work generated by BL's mobile fish bowls.

What sort of challenge is that!? There was no other car in the same class as the Princess because it had none.

Basically anything from BL or the US in the 70's should be on the list.

This one was just one mans opinion as he made clear a few times, not really good journalism at all.

I agree that list is complete bollocks.
The bloke doesn't explain why he considers it a crap car.

Lamborghini started out as tractor maker and still make very good tractors today. The LM002 may have been a good vehicle, I have no idea.

Typical American brainless military scumbags destroyed one in Iraq, the famous one from Uday Hussein, they found it hidden and instead of researching what it was, they used it for explosive testing !!! what a bunch of fools. That car could have fetched a lot of money in an auction because each of those cars were unique (only 300 made) and that one would have definitely "celebrity" status

more here: Uday Hussein Lamborghini LM002 #
