My Honda Africa Twin - Only in Thailand!

I've been waiting a while for my Africa Twin. Nearly 3 years in fact when I heard through the grapevine Honda may relaunch a new version. When it was finally announced, I placed an order and was put in the queue with an estimated delivery of Oct/Nov 2016, which was changed to Nov/Dec 2016. And if Christmas couldn't get any better after a holiday in Austria, Honda confirmed my bike would arrive on the 25th of December. Thanks Jesus!

So all arrangements where made and a time to collect on our return. We agreed on the 7th of January as Honda was closed until the 4th anyway. The wife calls on the 4th to say we are back and is all good for collection? In fact, the salesperson said we can collect on the Saturday as it is ready. Yippee!

Of we go to Honda and I'm like the kid that was when dad bought me a California Star BMX when i was 11 years old. Every minute seemed like an hour, days like weeks and the months of waiting have been torture, but all it good!

The wife phones to say we are on on way but there is a pause on the phone, my wife's face crunches up like a baboon's backside and she's talking far too fast for me to register. But I sense it, and I'm like that kid again whose 3-piece crank snapped after too many bunny hops and the make-shift ramps we made on Castle Avenue jumping over our BMX buddies. The wait for a new crank was fuckin' hell! My bike had been sold!

We get a call back to say there has been a mistake, the bike hasn't been sold but there has been a recall due to a scratched bearing. "A cratched bearing?" does he mean scratched fairing? I asked my wife if I could have the details of the recall so I could put it on my website and inform my buddies who have the Africa Twin. Shortly after someone pleb comes to the phone and says there is no recall, but the shop scratched the fairing. I told them it wasn't a problem, I can take the bike and wait for a new fairing piece. They sent the bike back apparently. BS!

I was pissed and told my wife just to cancel the sale. At this point they are running around like blue-arsed flies trying to fix the issue. Being stubborn, I was cutting my nose of to spite my face, but I was pissed off, and so why my wife being an xmas gift from her. Wife's eh!

We called to the shop where we got the facts, and it was case of 'he did it'. One salesperson blamed it on the other. While in Austria some twat sold my order.

    I'm told they'll have a replacement for the 18/20th.

6 fuckin days of agony. I have exhausted all porn options in the meantime. And posted far too much on here, twiddling my fingers while waiting for my steed!

I lucked out one time with Honda. Went in with cash the day a bike was released. Bought a black one off the floor. Drove it home 30 mminutes later. That night the manager rings up in a flurry, his wife, the other manager had taken a deposit on it, and can I come back and swap it for a red one. Fok no. All black thank you very much.

Got bad karma as it was the most delicate, shitty bike I ever owned.

Spoiled brat you is. I would have dusted you at the track with my PK Ripper. I used my diamondback to to tabletops and shit like that. The PK was track only.

I had a PK ripper and it was an overpriced piece of crap at the time. Single piece crank fucked too easy.

Diamond Back was decent enough, though but my Skyway with twin tube way better.

Spoiled Nah, (But I'll let our difference of politcal opinions make you feel that way) just a great wife who appreciates what I did for her and the family in the early stages of our relationship.

That's a proper relationship btw. None of that 60/25 shit. Is that you? Go on, is it?

Brings back memories of cracked nuts!

You must of had a piece of crap. I built my PK from the frame up. Killer three piece cranks, beartrap pedals, uni seat and a'me grips.

Built like a brick shithouse. Best bike to thrash as it was unbreakable.
