Wandering around and saw this.
So then a very nice mechanic type lady invited us into the workshop and look what else we saw

Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.
You people, you think I know feck nothing; I tell you: I know feck all
Those who cannot change their mind, cannot change anything.
Nice one focal, green owed
Sadly she said they were putting a Lexus V8 in it!
You mean a Toyota V8?Originally Posted by VocalNeal

edit: reading again, you must mean putting a Toyota V8 in the Charger... Is that top car a little old Toyota (I think I might have seen many of them in Thailand; the missus' aunt has one which is about 40 years old, but still runs well)?
Cycling should be banned!!!
Place near me not too far from Panya Indra golf club has a bunch of old modified toyotas and those Datsun pickups modified. I think they look pretty cool.
Sorry yes a Toyota V8 she said from Lexus and yes into the Dodge. That being said the top car with a V8 would be interesting if it would fit!
The top one Hmmm? I'll have to defer to someone else. I assumed Datsun 210 but it might also be a Mazda RX2 I didn't really look closely as I got distracted as soon as I saw the front of the Charger sticking out in the workshop.
Datsun or is it a holden torana?
^Good call on the general shape. It looks somewhere between a 180B and an A9X.
That Charger would be worth a Motsa Eh.
Fooking classic.
I thought it looked a bit like an early 70s Toyota Celica and Toyota Corolla?
We came back along a few side soi's alomg On Nut i noticed a small garage with a few classic sport cars, the garage look in a very poor state made of teak suppose could have been well weathered wood. What caught my eye was a green rare car.Just seemed to be sitting in a tight corner looking unloved.
Fascists dress in black and go around telling people what to do, whereas priests... more drink!
My first thought was corolla...but there's something slightly off, can't put my finger on it.
This one looks the same.
Even the badge? and the small vent.
So that's it then a Toyota Corolla/1200/Levine coupe.
I thought it was an RX2 on first glance also. Don't think so now though - the rear-end and gas flap position are wrong. Likely a Toyota of some description.Originally Posted by VocalNeal
Incidentally I have seen an RX3 in Thailand (it was advertised for sale) and an RX4 but I've never ever seen an RX2.
there used to be some nice cars in thailand, here in udon left from the veit war years, there was a ton of US iron, sadly most of it gone now, even 5 years ago there was some remnants but haven't seen much lately.
Still see some random cars around CM from time to time: Escorts, Capris and that sort of thing.
There's still an old HK Holden Brougham that I see putting around relatively frequently.
Here in Hatyai there are more VW's per capita than in NZ. There's even a VW specialist garage. From beetles to kombis, I see them every day.
I saw an old citroen, and there's quite a few vintage mercs around too.
Where do they come from?
have you seen any karmann ghias around,?love those things, I've seen 2 in Lao in the the last 10 years . Approached the bloke to see if he wanted to sell. ( it was in rough shape but restorable) no dice, he was a VW guy and wouldn't part with it, I pop around every now and then but the answers still No.
Exactly my same thought....I've not seen one in BKK...Originally Posted by beerlaodrinker

Still a lot of nice ones in private hands that they will never part with.
Last time I was in Penang I seen this old classic punching its head out. Anyone know what it is and how old. ? I been waiting for a thread like this.
I see it's a MG but its got some age on it.
^I reckon its an MG Magenette about 1955.
