What car is that top one?

edit: reading again, you must mean putting a Toyota V8 in the Charger... Is that top car a little old Toyota (I think I might have seen many of them in Thailand; the missus' aunt has one which is about 40 years old, but still runs well)?

Sorry yes a Toyota V8 she said from Lexus and yes into the Dodge. That being said the top car with a V8 would be interesting if it would fit!

The top one Hmmm? I'll have to defer to someone else. I assumed Datsun 210 but it might also be a Mazda RX2 I didn't really look closely as I got distracted as soon as I saw the front of the Charger sticking out in the workshop.

^Good call on the general shape. It looks somewhere between a 180B and an A9X.

That Charger would be worth a Motsa Eh.

    Fooking classic.

I thought it looked a bit like an early 70s Toyota Celica and Toyota Corolla?

We came back along a few side soi's alomg On Nut i noticed a small garage with a few classic sport cars, the garage look in a very poor state made of teak suppose could have been well weathered wood. What caught my eye was a green rare car.Just seemed to be sitting in a tight corner looking unloved.

I thought it was an RX2 on first glance also. Don't think so now though - the rear-end and gas flap position are wrong. Likely a Toyota of some description.

Incidentally I have seen an RX3 in Thailand (it was advertised for sale) and an RX4 but I've never ever seen an RX2.

Still see some random cars around CM from time to time: Escorts, Capris and that sort of thing.

There's still an old HK Holden Brougham that I see putting around relatively frequently.

Here in Hatyai there are more VW's per capita than in NZ. There's even a VW specialist garage. From beetles to kombis, I see them every day.

I saw an old citroen, and there's quite a few vintage mercs around too.

    Where do they come from?

have you seen any karmann ghias around,?love those things, I've seen 2 in Lao in the the last 10 years . Approached the bloke to see if he wanted to sell. ( it was in rough shape but restorable) no dice, he was a VW guy and wouldn't part with it, I pop around every now and then but the answers still No.

The Philippines used to be a good place to go hunting for classic American muscle cars and still can be, the flips know the value of them now so it's not easy, had a few mates in Angeles buying up cars as and where they found them, they made good money having them perfectly restored then re exporting them back to the states, corvettes, mustangs etc mostly. Still a lot of nice ones in private hands that they will never part with.
