stupid gallery, why can I not rotate that image ?
Any, apparently I have cracked the (presume, Head) Cylinder.
Is it worth repairing or just junk the car?

If you've cracked the cylinder head best to get a new one. Repairs can be dodgy on something that's required to keep compression in.
[Edit: by new one I mean a new cylinder head, it's not that big a job and not worth junking the car over]
You can usually get the head remachined for a moderate price that will make it as good as new,.
29,000,000 IDR (approx $2,700) but apparently it's also damaged something underneath, so total estimate is 59,000,000 IDR or close enough to $5,500Originally Posted by AntRobertson

Ahh ok, fuck that then.
Bodge it up and sell it on to some unsuspecting punter.
Usually caused by lack of attention to coolant levels and long high speed journeys. Even ultra reliable brands like Toyota can be damaged by idle ownership.
You should be able to get a secondhand engine for half that price?
yes - find where they do jap imports - and the corolla will keep going for another 10 yearsOriginally Posted by Airportwo

second hand cylinder head and a fitter to fit. a new gasket also.
about a 6 hr jobbie.
Exchange cylinder head $400, top overhaul gasket set, $70, new oil, oil filter $30, coolant $30.
If replace water pump $120, fan belt, $25..6 hours labour $300. Service $150..which would include oil ..plus filter..
Low km import long motor..$1400..fitting 4hrs $200..
Second hand Toyota 10 year old car $5000...that's what you would pay in Aussie..
Give this a go then trade it in to a dealer..
K-Seal ULTIMATE will permanently repair most cracks or leaks in the cylinder head where there is coolant loss. You simply shake the bottle, pour and go. It is literally as simple as that!
$20 job done

Go to Worachak, at the rate the Thais destroy cars it should not be difficult to find a replacement.
Putting a new head on an inline 4 is not that difficult a job. You can do it properly yourself or get a Thai to do it.

I would just go the option of a low km jap import if the rest of the car is on good condition and not covered in a layer of monkey hair

A few years ago I used simply flush and seal, heavy duty block seal on a cracked head and it is still going strong.
