Try Brian - he's pretty helpful if you're serious. Yes, he's in Pattaya, but that doesn't really matter. He also stocks bling for you Americans.

Thanks Marmite. I am hearing there are some dealers in Udon that will take cash, but have not really looked for one yet. I will wait until I return before buying one.
Had a lookie here Motorcycle ATV Sales Service Repair Va - Manassas Honda Kawasaki Suzuki MHKS New & Used
Looks like he's chewed through my Oxygen Sensor (parts 14 and 15)
It's been running without it, but would explain the drop in power. The fuel mix must be all to shit.
Does that sound about right?
Lang may yer lum reek...
I think pulling the O2 sensor would cause you to run rich, but the drop in power shouldn't be that bad- I could be wrong about that, but it's function is to lean out the mixture, so if it's out of the loop that won't happen and more fuel will be added.
Is is smoking at all?
It would probably throw a code (dashboard light) as well if that were the case.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
HST
Doesn't seem to be smoking. Will check again when she gets home from work.
Technically the sensor is still in, but the cable is cut and chewed with the connector to the sensor MIA.
Just as well:
014 SENSOR, OXYGEN 36532-K26-901 001 $84.20
015 WIRE, OXYGEN SENSOR 36533-K26-901 001 $34.71
Might pull it off for B1,000
I have a red MSX and is a brilliant bike. So far have just had a rack fitted to the back and a decent comfortable seat. Haven't really had the time to get it run in properly yet. Hardly been above 85 KPH yet. 105+ seems good for a 125 engine. Some of the mods posted are getting me tempted.
Red ones are slower and the insurance is is almost double for full cover.
OK, I will be returning to Thailand soon and was wondering if the price has changed any on these bikes. Last I checked in Bangkok, they were a little spendy, but I am willing to travel a bit to purchase if the price is more reasonable anywhere else. I now have the money and it is burning a hole in my pocket.
Any thoughts?
I bought one last week, paid 75k for it. The other night a Thai guy parks next to me on his MSX and asks what I paid for it. He'd bought his down the road from me and paid 68k.
I bought mine in Cha-am, his was down the road in Thaiyang.
He'd 'blinged' his out with twin exhausts, sounded nice!
Thanks for that Charley. So 68K is the lowest I have heard of or seen so far.
Anyone else?
Any word from up north?
I got mine for 50k with 2,500kms on it and only 6 months old.
My advice is, it's small. When I ride it I'm sitting a little bit back on the pillion's jesus handle which is a little uncomfortable, best to remove it. 2 up riding is an awkward uncomfortable squeeze. It's an alright little putt around town bike and fine for my gf to go to work etc. She's the only person that rides it now. For me, I'm always trying to shift up out of 4th gear, to my disappointment.
It's better than a scooter.
But Rick, I think you're after something a little bigger. I'm pretty sure you could pick up a 200cc Honda Phantom for less, I bought a 400cc Yamaha Virago a few years back for 45k and my 750 Magna for 80k.
I only bought the MSX to get me around until I got a proper bike, knowing it would be good for her to upgrade to it from her old Wave.
Conclusion - MSX is for kids, girls, or when you're going out to get shitfaced.
Thanks Dirk. I already have a Honda Shadow 400 and a new Honda 250 CBR, and I am just buying the MSX for tooling around the village and, as you said, when I get shitfaced.
I know my wife and family will be the one riding it. I bought her a Honda Click years back, which has now been commandeered by her brother. She now uses the 250 to run around the village, which is a little tall for her.
I am like you. I like two wheeled transportation and I already have 3 (counting the Click), but you know how the disease is. It never leaves and I don't want to spend the money on a Kawasaki 800.
^ this is the baby I'll be picking up next time I'm in Thailand, Rick
- although, being a bit in the sticks one of these may be better?
^
I have seen those body kits and that is one of the nice things about the MSX. If you ever get tired of how it looks, you can always change to a different kit.
No you won't, unless you are buying second hand.Originally Posted by Bettyboo
Down to 4 weeks before coming home and just a final check on prices and thoughts before I become a serious buyer. I am not in a big hurry to buy and will be looking online for a slightly used MSX125 as well. Having to drive my truck down to the Bangkok area is not that cost effective if I can find something local.
OK, here is a question for everyone. Which is a better investment, MSX125 or newer Vespa?
^ I think there is a big difference in price?
Just got twin exhausts fitted to mine, sounds incredible.
Newer meaning maybe 2012 Vespa comapred to a new MSX125.
No question from a investment point of view a vespa is going to hold value better
Thanks Yankee, I concur.
Your lucky day Jim. Just seen this advert...
