Bwahahaha! I hear what you're saying, but truth is, whacking around in the jungle is very much a team sport. We'd never made it through if we hadn't helped each other out!





Usually we can complete this trail in 2-3 hours. This time it took us all day!

I spend most of the winter months riding dirt bikes up north with my mates. Always happy to hook up with like-minded folk who want to hit the trails and / or just enjoy some beers!

Bunch of us are riding north from Bangkok later this week to join the GT-Rider memorial ride to Mae Hong Song:

The 1st GT Rider Mae Hong Son Memorial Rider held in 2009 was proposed by Simon Siinthai Grant in honour of GT Rider John TJ Hamilton, who had died the year before. However before the event took place, Simon was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident just a few kms from his home in Phuket. That memorial ride still went on, & now honours both TJ & Simon. A 3rd GT Rider, Dan White is also remembered. There are 3 plaques honouring these GT Riders at Wat Chong Klang by the lake in Mae Hong Son. MHS was a place in the heart of these dear riding friends, & they all remain in our hearts. They will always be remembered with an annual memorial ride to Mae Hong Son.

After reading all of this thread and knowing nothing of anyone, their personalities or histories, I can only conclude that:
a: a few of the posters - particularly mr earl, have personal gripes that they are airing online. The things of which he complains (other than being barred) seemto be innocuous enough. But the bitterness shows, as does the deathwish for GT Rider.
b: David would, I imagine, have total control over what is posted here. He has left the negative messages up for all to see, and not commented. A position that deserves some respect.
For me, I want information on motorcycling in Thailand. GTRider has a lot of relevant info. Ride Asia seems to offer a bit too, but not yet as much as GT Rider. ThaiVisa has degenerated to mostly crap with ads in between. I'll shop at all stores for now, but as a newbie admit a preference for GT Rider at present.
