    There's a reason he's called "Poor Farang"....

Looks like I sold it, subject to finance, I was asking 499k and took 490k. He was the first guy to look at it......I had just got it back from the detailers, it looked like new, almost wanted to keep it

Similar cars go for around 550k on the net in car yards, 450k trade in. I shot for the middle.

Must have had 20 phone calls from people offering 450k sight unseen and asking me to agree, obviously dealers. I told them they needed to come look at it and you will see why I am asking 499. I could have gotten 10-20k more if I waited but off to work next month and could do with the money now.

Just curious, why are you selling the truck? Leaving the country or to buy a new one?

If it's to buy a new one it doesn't make sense, 140k the truck is just barely broken in. Insurance is going to be much cheaper. Wear items like brakes belts, suspension bits, etc cost very little to service and keep in good running order. That truck will break 500k kms no problem which means you could drive it another 20 years without any major issues.

I got an older Nissan truck with 500k on it now and it still works great get's 13kms to the liter and is dirt cheap to maintain, every three years or so I take in to the shop throw 15-20k baht in maintenance at it. It's a good old work truck. No reason why it wont go a million kms.

I am after a new car soon... How much trade in could I expect for a 4-5 year old Vios, 60K on the clock, 1.5 AT?

Couldn't find vios on Nortons link.

Would probably be lucky to get the equivalent of 150k baht if it were in the UK.

Prices seem to be three - four times the going uk rate, so 450k - 600k.

I had a look at a tatty (front end bump) one in February, bloke wanted 450k as seen, i offered 200k, and felt rarther relieved he didn't get the sword out and samurai my ass.

Just for an example my 2 year 700k new Fiesta I also have on the market was offered 400k on trade in....Toyotas tend to hold there value better but if it was 560 new I wouldnt expect to get anything north of 400k for it. Have a look at one2car.com for comparisons what dealers are asking and take 10% off that.I was offered 460k for the Fiesta but I have decided to keep it for now. Better to wait for all these new models to come out first in a year or so. I was going to sell both cars and get one new one.
