The funny thing (or should I rather say the ironic and inconsistent thing) is that the stoning to death penalty has been going on for many centuries and it is only now that the practice is virtually finished that some individuals are showing such moral outrage against a country opposed to the interests of the west, and particularly USA, in the Middle East.

While I find the death penalty, and particularly the barbaric practice of stoning, abhorrent, I am sure the supporters of USAs "interests" in the Middle East would be more than happy to overlook such a practice if the Iranian government was more accommodating to US financial interests. Vilifying foreign governments and/or their citizens in the popular western media has more to do with the degree they cooperate with us financially than any moral arguments re right or wrong.

Just take a look at our double standards, -- Iran = bad. Saudi Arabia = good.
Very little difference there between the two countries re the application of radical Islamic Sharia law. One is a democracy and one is a Royal dictatorship. Which one should we support?

Actually, whilst I don't doubt that's true, the Saudi's also have a very large amount of cash invested in the US. Were it to be pulled out it would have catrostrophic consequences for the US economy.

I think its pretty obvious to all that Blackgang is suffering from senile dementia (loss of intellectual ability).

Oh! come on Tex, you don't give a toss about rules. I find BG's thread title and his continuous anti- Muslim rants far more offending and I ignored them in the beginning but some times he must face the bitter truth so I thought why not now.

He calls us smelly cun'ts and rag heads so he should be ready for it. Anyway I had a message and I conveyed it. I don't gove a toss what he feels or thinks.
