| Elite Member | Bloody great !! Thanks I spent about 3 years - on and off- working out there ( boring things like insurance claims at logging camps etc ) and you certainly have put the place in a nutshell for all of us. Somewhere I have a load of pics of the forts that Charles Brooke ( the White Raja) built to repel Pirates on the rivers. All named after his wife -( Margerhita in Kuching) and daughters Alice - Emma etc Fascinating places . Thanks again ! Dont know how to green you but considered it done |

| The main market in Kota Kinabulu. This market had every thing and the amount of fresh fish and produce was outstanding. You just ordered your fish and it was BBQ'd in front of you. Could not get any fresher. ![]() |

| This is the end of this thread and I did not have enough time to get into this part of the country. I was very impressed with Borneo and I'm planning to go back over later in 2008, visit the Orang-Utan sanctuary , Kinabulu National Park and the world class diving destination of Pulau Sipidan. I recommend people venture over to this part of Asia . Cheers. |
