After the talk, we left to continue our stroll. But first, we needed to answer the call of nature.

It was very clean and more posh than those I've tried in KK malls.

This was a public loo, btw. They had western toilets and squat ones.
Sorry, no pic of the squattie. I did take a pic of one at the airport.

The Omar Ali Saifudien Mosque, from afar. This view is from Yayasan Mall.

    A closer view

    Here's some signage

A look back at the mall

It was very hot & sunny. Plus side - good day for taking photos.

    More mosque photos

    The ceremonial boat and lagoon

When we passed by the mosque, afternoon prayers had just finished. We didn't enter, since we weren't in proper attire, so we just took pics outside.

Thanks again, Katie. Very nice pics. One thing that's interesting in Brunei is that their weather is very stable and predictable. They don't get the storms that their neighbouring countries get.

I don't know what this building is, but it looked nice

This was the inscription at the Islamic Affairs building

I was curious, so I've googled the translations:
    Department of Shariah Affairs
    Prosecution Islamic Shariah Law Unit
    Ministry of Shariah Affairs

^What is the "it" you're referring to? The nice building from the above post? Or are you referring to me as a flashpacker? (btw, I know what it means, but I don't consider myself one, since my income isn't flashy enough)).

I'll add pics to this thread when the net is better... my photobucket is acting up.

What makes you think that a) toilets have a religion and b) 'their' toilets are different from ours

^I think the one in post #151 qualifies as a Muslim toilet, since there's a sign of a girl wearing a hijab/tudong, no? And yeah, I also think that toilets have no religion, whether you're Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Jew, agnostic, atheist, etc - we all pee & poop the same way. But since Jofrey asked so nicely and said please, here are some pics...

Jofrey, you're pre-empting my pics, now the pics won't be in sequence! I still haven't finished the 1st day of pics, and now I'll be posting the 2nd day because of your request! Grrr..

Anyway, these were taken at the Brunei airport, while waiting for our flight.
This way to the toilets. Note the Arabic signs... so I guess they qualify as Muslim toilets...

Follow the yellow brick road.. err.. yellow signs

Posh airport toilet.. with nice tiles and flowers too!

And finally, here's the squat toilet.

I'm working from home today and am taking a break. I'm getting a headache from those numbers... surprisingly, the net is good! There were Western toilets too, but I didn't take pics.
