You'll make it if you don't have any bags as it's a good 1/2 ride. Good luck!

Not a clue re the ED Visa.

I doubt it. You might as well make a nice little break out of it instead of stressing and rushing around

Not a chance of making it.
Take it you are going by AirAsia and landing at the LCCT Terminal?
The walk from the tarmac to immigration takes a few minutes, immigration say 20 minutes and the drive to the consulate is around the 45min-1hr mark depending on traffic.

Take the bus into town for around 9 Ringgit (90 baht).
As soon as you exit immigration you will see around 4 bus booths set up on the left hand side. Buy your ticket here and take the 1hr ride in to town.

    What area are you staying?
Wherever you are, getting to the consulate by train is probally the best option (very cheap and fast).
Hop off at Ampang Park and it's a cigarettes walk from there.

    What to?
China Town, Indian food, drink down Buckit Bintang (spelling?), Twin Towers (have to rock up early to get a ticket), more drinking and visit China Town again.
    Black diamonds? I shit 'em.

I wrote this as a reminder to myself and for anyone working for the same company, but you may find some of it useful.

If arriving at the same airport (LCCT), ignore the buses and taxis, many of them are pretty
old and its better to avoid the traffic jam that leads into KL. Take the
shuttlebus-high speed rail link combo. The bus leaves directly outside the domestic
Arr/Dep lounge. The buses leave every half hour, and are timed to meet the high
speed trains that will take you directly into KL central it takes in total one hour, wh
which is quicker and more comfortable than taxis and only costs RM12.50.

A taxi from KL central to the street the Thai Embassy is on will cost between RM 15-20
depending on traffic. The street mainly has 5 star hotels along it, there are no
budget hotels in the area, or at least I couldnt find any.
The best option, BY A MILLION MILES is to stay at the D-Villa residence, which is directly
opposite the Thai embassy. I didnt stay there myself as it was fully booked, but nearly
everybody else was. Its between a 3 and 4 star place and was advertising rooms on special
for RM 200 per night, which is by far the cheapest in that area, Reserve in advance!!!

The Embassy officially opens at 9.30am, but they start letting people into the embassy courtyard
at 9.00am. There is no reason to be there before 9.00am, there were people waiting, but not in a
queue, Its handy to get in quick when the guard opens the exterior gate as it will dramatically
cut down your waiting time the nearer you are at the main door at 9.30am, by the time it opened
there was about 50 people waiting. When they open you are given a ticket and you wait for your
number to come up. I was about the 5th person through and I had to wait about 15mins, I guess
the people at the back would be waiting a good hour or two. I was charged RM220 for the
application. I was asked for my exit flight details which I had left in my room, I just made it up.

You return the next day to collect your passport and visa, the embassy opens at 14.30pm, they
do not open the courtyard earlier in the afternoon, so no need to arrive early. Just keep an eye
out for when the guard opens the gate, as everyone tries to rush in.

A couple of tips I heard were, try not to go for a Monday as all the people who arrived late
Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be there waiting. I was told there was over 150 people
waiting the Monday before I arrived. Dont leave it to the Thurs-Friday as if there is a problem
you could be stuck there over the weekend. Also watch out for public holidays the Thai
embassy observes Thai holidays, not Malaysian.
