Killing spree in Thailand?

According to these statistics, Thailand ranks 3 amongst countries with most murders with firearms.
NationMaster - Murders with firearms (per capita) (most recent) by country

True? Sounds a bit crazy that Thailand several times as many murders with firearms as Zimbabwe, Mexico - and US with its fucked up gun laws.

Whoa.. that is crazy. Makes me wonder about the reliability of those statistics.. I wouldn't have even have thought Thailand to be near the top of that list.

Stats are wrong, it has more murders by firearms than there are total murders by any means!

Nothing's wrong here. Its just simple mathematics. Don't you know the old mathematical problem:
If three people are in a room and five of them leave how many people have to go into the room for it to be empty?

A country that relies so heavily on prostitution and the night life industry, probably one of the worst drug problems in the world, a police force that is not properly funded and in some areas corrupt, a burgeoning poverty problem and which seems to draw the very worst foreigners I am hardly surprised with the figures.

I am a relatively "under the radar" type of person but know of a number of people who have either been shot or have shot another person.

Still I believe The Philippines leaves Thailand for dead as far as security and gun related crimes.
