    changing your 'tabian baan' !?!

changing your tabian baan isn't too much of a problem, as long as you follow the problem is that the change depending on your location & circumstances.

    here's my story then...

i went to the local ampur office in the town where i'm living, let's call it nakom nowhere for now. i asked them to sort me out with a new tabian baan (tb), however in order to do this one has to go back to the original ampur office that issued the old tb so i went back up to BKK. the BKK office cancelled (actually they stamped on it that i had moved) my old tb, but they let me keep it, and issued me some sort of form to give to my new ampur. now they said i had 15 days in which to register my new address or i'd lose my tb altogether. the whole process took about 30 mins. in the office and didn't cost a penny.

so i wen back to nakom nowhere and gave them my old tb, the form, my passport & 60 baht. they spent about a hour updating the tb with my new address, which is prolly right for an out of town ampur.

i was hoping that i could keep my BKK tb in-tact & get a new one issued at nakom nowhere, just so as i'd have two of em'... but no such luck!

I rent here so when I wanted to change mine they said to have it stamped out at the old Amphur, which I did then I had to go with my landlord to the new one, What I didnt know was she is not the owner of the house, her sister is and she lives in BKK, so she came up a week later and went to the Amphur here and they put me [A Farang] in my landlords book, strange and now I don't have one and being a farang in a blue book.

I really cannot understand how you managed to get onto a blue Tabien Baan book.
Would be interesting to know if that enables you to vote in the next election because the voting list is made up from it.

if it does allow you to vote, and enough guys like blackgang and myself get to vote, imagine the possibilities:

for one, thailand would have an all-white government!

oh, well, i suppose we can all dream, can't we!

Be fucked if I know, I had the paper from Phetchabun and went with my landlady to the San Sai Amphur and we sat around there a while and then she talked to them and we left, her sister came the next week and then my landlady came over and gave me some copys of from a Blue book and said they were mine.
So I guess we will find out when I need proof of residence like my 90 day report the 13 of Oct.

i didn't kmow that farangs could get into a blue book, i thought only thai citizens could do that, i will have to enquire cos it might have greater benefits that being in a yellow book.

Let us know what you find out.
I have been told many times that Farangs are not allowed to be entered into a blue book as it is against regulations.
I now know of three exceptions
