I use True. 1gb costs 212bt per month. After you use the 1gb it still works fine though. They reduce your speed/ bandwidth after the 1gb but everything still works. Go figure.

You can buy a sim card at 7/11 for about 50bt, top up with 300bt, then use then bang in the usd code and you're on your way.
Step by step, inch by inch, piece by piece.

Better off buying at most IT malls. They won't demand your passport and registration of the sim, and you can choose the number you want without annoying the 7-11 staff as a queue gathers behind you.

Check out truemoves 19baht per day unlimited data and calls deal. Just put credit on the phone and top up the 19 baht every 48hrs. 7-11 won't offer you this deal.

That's why l advise going to a clued up phone stall at most IT malls. MBK better as they speak english.

If you mention this deal they'll know exactly what you mean rather than attempting sign language with a dumb employee at 7-11 who knows zero english (which is most of them)

You can buy a SIM without registering it, but will it work if it's not registered?

They will tell you to visit a true shop to register it.

Try this from any prepaid true sim

    This number:

    *900*8701*17330746#

Then it will automatically take 19 baht and you got unlimited data and calls for 24hrs. You will get a text telling you what time it expires so you know when to top up again.

I was getting ripped off for months just by normal top ups of 200 at a time which could only last a couple of days. The ads and annoying updates also took a chunk of it.

I was given that code by a guy at a phone shop when l asked for advice and told him about being ripped off. I didn't need a new sim card either.

I have an AIS sim card and use an app called Unliminet. You can see the data packages, your number, your credit, data balance etc. then

You can even send credit with it, if youre a bit daft like me

Heres a screenshot of part of the app with the 30 day data packages below. The 399 baht 3GB does me.

Oh and you can change your sms language to English with it too...
