    MyDNA Fingerprint Analysis.

A couple of weeks ago we got a letter from daughters school explaining that some people would be in her classroom watching and 'testing' some of the children. Then last week we were invited in as our kid was 'chosen' as one of the subjects and they wanted to share the results.

    All very exciting,

We sit down and it's explained that they took my daughters fingerprints and have evaluated them to determine her personality type/strengths and weaknesses.

so, like palm reading!? what the fuck kind of quakery is this?!

These are 3 of her finger results,

Which apparently mean she is like this...

All very suss, as one minute they are saying she's very shy and the next that she's very confident.

We get a nice report that explains her strengths, weaknesses

and ooh look, she has the potential to be a 'genius' in these subjects, if only there was some kind of tutoring school that specifically focused on these subjects.

what's that you say MyDNA? You OFFER THESE TUTORING SERVICES! How lucky!

I'm more pissed off with the school for blatantly setting us up for an advertising pitch than the company that is trying to sell this shite.
I'd like to see what morning looks like
Don't wanna drink pint after pint
I wanna wake up without feeling sick
    But I can't cuz I'm a drug-abusing alcoholic

TIT there is a buck to be made, and education is one of the biggest scams here. This is not a school, but a "tutoring, consulting agency" that is working on the scam.

Private school I would bet. Picked the wrong sucker it seems...

    P. T. Barnum had some thoughts about such things.

Even though I've told my missus to be wary of this shit. I'll lay odds she gets involved.

I would have told them to stop wasting school funds and concentrate on doing their jobs.

I'd imagine the school was making on this scam.
My missus jumps at anything that claims they can make your child something they are not. Over the years it's ballet lessons, singing lessons, ukulele lessons, guitar lessons and drumming lessons for the boy.

As a side note though, it really amazes me how many Westerners live here completely illiterate in Thai.

It's really quite an easy language to read with a little bit of time and effort, and it is a great sense of achievement being able to read it, especially things like menus, road signs, etc etc. You can have lots of fun when you see a sign - อาบน้ำ 10b Shower 50b and you tell them that you don't want a shower, you want อาบน้ำ.

Get a book, this one is great:

And get practicing every time you see written Thai - passing buses, shop signs, menus etc.

Soon you'll be recognizing where the passing bus is going, can wave to Punty in the window, or will start to recognize what the road sign is, or what dish is what on the menu, then soon you'll be embarrassing smiling Thai filth as they try to fleece you for 5 times the price.

Sounds like some shit they'd try in the schools here. Did they charge you for the 'testing'?

Probably five times the price of the Thai kids.
