    A gift from Bangkok

My wifes' cousin from Bangkok came to visit family for the holiday. They stopped by the house to drop off a gift. A bag of dried squid. I'm thinking they must really dislike her. They could have just stopped in front of the house and screamed "f#@k you, I never did like you!" But they go to the trouble of bringing a bag of F#@king dried squid all the way from BKK. They must really hate her.

It's normal to give a food gift when visiting.

Yes I feel better just getting that off my chest. I should have known better than to try breathing a little life into this dead ass forum. You can go back to reading your Advanced Acronyms now.

^ Whining about someone buying you a present is "breathing a little life into this dead ass forum", is it? You learn a new thing every day.

The squid they dry out in Cha Am is delicious. It comes direct off the boats coming in.
Then they put it on metal corrugated roofs in the sun

It's actually a sort after gift brought from the coastal regions to the interior.
I too was puzzled by the excitement of My Mary that her Brother was coming up with bags of squid.
Today we went to the Fayre & Square Pub in Maidstone and even to this day she orders prawns chips and peas.
Shrimp still doesn't excite My tastebuds.

When the smaller squids are dried whole with the bone in.

Dipped in the citrus chilli/fish dip. Fucking lovely.

The wife's sister came for a stay once when we lived in Chiang Mai. She owed a very big prawn farm. I'll never forget her....she came with about 15KG of prawns. The big fuckers with blue pincers.

I remember telling the wife that I got the wrong sister.

I like squid. It's the chicken feet in gelatin I abhor.

Be glad she's not Chinese. See link for details.
