We do not live to remote like some of you guys do but still live in a small area in the north. I seldom see a foreigner except once in awhile at Home Pro and they always looks pissed off and dress like slobs so I never say anything to them.

Living in Thailand is exactly what you make it, The happy and content folks are the ones that adapted and pay little attention to others and what they think.
We don't worry about the hosting.

We have simply opened a YouTube Account, upload the video and let them host it.

Security is important so we have ours set to the middle level where you can't search for the video, you have to know the exact address.

Mainly because we hundreds of videos of the kids there in our account and we can simply send the link to relies/friends etc.

It's mostly rubbish tips along the roads, breeze block 'buildings' with tin roofs, metal work shops and stray cows and dogs where we are, so don't think i'll be posting any pics

Sounds good and thanks for security tips. I will play with it when I have some time.

I work in Korat and there are some good mountain roads up here to blaze around on.

Recently discovered that I retired to early. Not sure about the tractor, but I could be working again soon and really looking forward to it.

Thanks now to Facebook and the village posting pictures My Mary spotted the construction of a small new building going up and She was onto Skype to ask about it, it's the new rice barn.
Thanks to the villagers posting pics on Facebook it's possible to see the village and enjoy their lives from very far away.

Sunday night took a taxi, 167 Baht. Thinking I'd whipped out two 100 Baht notes, I handed them over and got out swiftly only to realise one of those 100s was actually a 500.

Wouldn't they also quite possibly look pissed off in Home Pro and dress like slobs?

Nice boat David, I've been going to the local boat builders around Pakse and they make a smaller skiff. They like them as many solo net the river with them for ease of getting around and drifting with the net.

Myself would prefer to anchor in the river and drop a line or two. I really would not feel safe night fishing for catfish unless we strapped two of our little skiffs together like a catamaran.

The boats down by 4000 isle area were suitable for night fishing. Still the finish of them was subpar to those in Thailand.

    Thanks for the vids.

James , I thought we were off the beaten path. Good for you! I'm envious as I love simplicity. Life is short enough why do we have to make it so damn complicated.

Wish you and yours all the best.
