Rural Life - an aerial perspective

Kanthuat Ramuean, a rural Isaan village along Hwy 24

Interesting perspective and, at a shade under 4 mins long, IMHO, well worth a viewing

This is from a few years ago and apologies if it's been posted before.

The guy has a few drone vids on Youtube but he has the place named as Kanthuat Ramuean and Kanthuat Ramuang. Either one doesn't appear on Google maps.

Been down that stretch of route 24 many times - back in the days when I used to ride the wave from Pak Chong to the Cambo border and back...

I believe he's in Buriram.....rural SE of Mueang.

This video is typically reflective of Surin outskirts life - especially the sizable kwai population and keepers [kinda old school], which are fading throughout countryside Thailand [not all].

Habits and conditioning are still very Khamen.

    Nice vid!

Yes, typical Thai country side. Still after all those years of living here, I can enjoy the sightseeing.

Stunning views ... but, somehow, I can't go past the simplicity and honesty of the rural life depicted in the OP.

Yeah great video in the OP without a doubt, but it could be a very lonely place for an ex pat to live .

Re the Phuket video, very little of it is actually of Phuket ('Big Buddha', some coastline scenes etc). The remainder is of the islands in Phang Nga Bay ('James Bond' island), and of Maya Bay in Phi Phi. Of course most of these places are typically accessed from Phuket.

The scenery is truly stunning, but unfortunately, over the last 4-5 years, the islands have been overrun by tour boats, particularly with Russians and Chinese groups. Almost impossible now to find that 'Robinson Crusoe' type of beach on a small island that I used to love to go to on my boat with a few friends, BBQ, swim, few beers etc. The last couple of years I hardly used my boat at all, to the point that I recently sold it.

Back to the OP, there are still places on Phuket that are not a million miles from the village scenes depicted in the video, particularly in the east and north west of the island. Cross the Sarasin Bridge into Phang Nga, and within a few kilometres, there are rural lifestyles to match anything, anywhere in Thailand, but with interesting scenery and of course easy access to beaches and the sea.

I think you misunderstood , the OP video was about the area near to Surin in North east Thailand , your other remarks about Phuket and the surrounding area is sadly quite true, the get away from it all places are long gone and the World is now a small place , I first went to Phuket and the other areas you mention 20 years ago ,from what I read about from such as yourself and glean from tourists its a far cry to what is was then
