    Temple music and disco

For 6 days now, they play loud music since the early morning. I'm living in an area with several temples, but one across the river like to turn the speakers towards my house. I went there a few times to complain, but the abbot is typical Thai. So every time they have a new burning or party it's disco in my house.

Others on this forum have the same kind of experience?

There was loud'ish music from I thought a temple, OK not close enough to be annoying,, When I asked as to where it was from, the reply from home where someone die, not temple. The pleasant thing, the one song they played I enjoyed, it was a great way to start the day.

Welcome to Asia. Indonesia is the same! It is simply part of the adventure that is Asia.

Advice? never build or buy a house that is within rock music distance from a Wat! Oh an sound travels further over water than land so never build a riverside house opposite a wat!
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.

6 days is a little on the long side for a funeral burning. So it won't be that they're playing for.

I have been told that the importance of a person can or will extend the funeral. 3, 5, 7 or 9 days. It might be 11 days too I believe. But, there are no true important people here. So, they might be waiting for some relative who comes from abroad.

The most irritating thing I saw yesterday morning was that the family simply left and left us with the damned noise! So cruel.

Important people usually get burned at a big temple at the city or BKK.

The abbot of a temple in Thailand is 'typical Thai'? Imagine that.

You seem to be the typical farang banging his head against the wall on this one to be honest.

He only hear what he wanna hear and remember a thing. BUT, my wife got bored with it, when she tried to take a nap and she called the head of our village to complain. Within 5 min the music was turned down.

Oh, for your information: it has no use to bring your complaint to the local police, the fine they are allowed to give is only 300 Baht. Beside this, any local police station won't open before 08.30 LOL

If temples bother you I suggest getting a house not in an area 'with several of them'.

Never a 'pom pem' where I live. It's 24/7, irrespective of the occasion. Except Tesco Express who are law abiding citizens.
