Yes, that crossed my mind. Not quite sure how to do a decisive check. Any ideas?

A Deplorable Bitter Clinger
Yes, that is my next step for sure. I also want to verify the well depth and get his thoughts on our neighbor's well.
This morning the faucet was spitting and sputtering, but there was eventually water flow. The toilet still fills up with water when used, so it is getting water as well. This happened yesterday as the wife washed the dishes and she thought it was the pump. It well could be the pump, so I will have it checked out.
We have had problem with the pump in the past and I refused to buy a new one. When I asked if someone could service or rebuild it, I got the blank stare. It seems the Thais would rather buy new than fix a broken item.
I have a guy here in Suphan that rebuilds pumps/motors. Had the bearings changed in my 3hp pump motor recently as it was sounding a little rough. There's another guy here who specializes in washing machines and he's rebuilt both of ours for little money.
That's generally true a lot of Thais will just shit-can something when it's broken instead of fixing it but if you search around there'll always be some mechanic chang who loves tinkering with stuff.
Yes, I think I could find someone like that here in Udon, but my wife hates to ask around for such things. Maybe I will go on Udonmap to see if anyone listed a good handy man.
Where are you located RC? Success with wells greatly vary location to location.
Near Udon, and as I said there is a well at my wife's parents house that I had put in 9 years ago and it is still going strong. My well has only been in service a litle over a year.
Rick if you read Komans post 1151 it might give you a little help , komans pond is 8 meters deep and its almost dry ,read on https://teakdoor.com/construction-in-...thread-47.html (Land development with wall and house...photo thread..first effort.)
Come on Rick ...tell your wife to get her arse in gear....go to Udon and find a shop that sells pumps........they will know a guy to recommend for sure.
Plus...I hope you will make a public apology to your Thai Neighbor if it turns out to be the pump or down to a poor well placement when you first had it drilled
If you were
you would not have said this.Originally Posted by rickschoppers

Pumps are easy to find. It is finding those who rebuild them well that is the challenge.
I have not said a word to the neighbor, even though his placing a pump on our lower property line is not a way to gain any apologies from me.
I hope you are right and it is the pump. Either way Thailand needs more water preservation and management. It would also take reeducating the Thai population which could be a huge undertaking. Too many other big issues to solve first.
