Have food & drink prices suddenly increased where you are?

Market/street-side restaurant meals have just jumped by about 10 baht and beer by about 5 up here in the NE.

Yes. Food prices here have jumped up in the last week.

The thing I noticed the most is the price of the chicken meat scraps I use to make dog food. It has been 60 baht per kilo is now 70 baht. The chicken vendor was complaining there was no forewarning of the wholesale price increase.

Medium pizza from Pizza Company recently jumped from 359b to 379b. This is after last year's increase from 329b. Everything is getting more expensive.

^^ Just look around for deep-fried carcasses. You can buy them whole or by the bag (shredded into little bits).

^That's a good deal. This month the same thing was a hundred baht more. Pizza Hut is cheaper on everything now but the pizza is shite. For that matter Pizza Company is shite too. A new Dominos is opening in my neighborhood - which will probably be shite as well.

I prefer Scoozi, but its not good at all the day after. 299 will be had one night at my home. I will whip up another 10 chicken wings and a loaf of garlic bread, then its almost enough for me and two kids. Throw in a salad with croutons and it will be swell.

Still hovers around B25-B30 for us.

Even better, to take it at home - that's if you're fortunate enough to have a couple decent Thai cooks on the premises.

Damn! Went to the market today and the chicken scraps was up to 80 baht per kilo today. From 60 to 80 within the last couple of weeks. Poor dogs gonna have to learn to be vegetarians.

^^I buy the packaged frozen ground up chicken dog food at Foodland. Price has held steady at 40 baht for a long time. Mix it with 3 cups of cooked rice and it lasts about 4-5 days. Contains lots of bone meal so it keeps things nice and solid coming out the other end too.

^ Thanks for that but no Foodland here in Chaing Mai. The only frozen dog food I've found here is dodgy stuff. When thawed is half liquid and smells funny. Someone told me it is ground lungs.

I'll do homemade dog food thread later today. They don't really have to become vegetarians.
