and nothing to do with renting or buying either, they both can be noisy
anyway, after a quiet sunday morning, the Walking Street Market is gearing up
so lots of trucks and shouting is necessary, music later including some infamous karaoke
= bar time
Yep, if you are gonna rent or buy, its good form to do your due dilligence on the area at different times of day, songkran, kids school holidays and rocket festivals.
Loudspeakers on every lampost surrounding your house should also be red flagged
After 2 hours of monks dirgin away along with a duet involving the old bitch whose house is going to get covered in dog shit the night before I do a crack of dawn runner, and the fuck kunt wank bloke... then quiet. Walked past their get together and saw a fair old collection of laos khao bottles and half dead old fuckers. I am hoping it is a one off.
a bit of tinsel and party lights would also enhance the ambianceOriginally Posted by Dillinger

Confrontation is NOT the name of the game in Thailand, so it is in fact best that they never know who creatively altered the wiring.
However one option is as Baldrick says: alter only the speaker(s) closest to you. They may not notice for a while, if the speakers closer to them are ok.....unless those speakers irritate you too.
Hmmm....perhaps a few more short-circuits first to divert their attention...? They may just think that the wiring is as crap as it often is in Thailand.
Or sound proof your sleeping area, simple but not cheap.
And I thought it was only me. Ours doesn't usually start until 05:18 though.
How detonation cord (aka Primacord) works – high explosives in a thin plastic tube – The Blogs at HowStuffWorks
use prima cord and you'le not cut yourself if cutting the post as LT suggests

Connect the wire up to mains current and flip it on. That should take care of the speakers and leave a nice tangle of molten plastic and melted wire.
Whatever method you decide, leave your webcam on, should make a good thread.
:-)
Oh, i like that one, run mains 220 back down the line to the amp !!!!
Expanding-foam in the speaker. Works every time....
You can quietly and discreetly fry his hi-fi from a safe distance:
Making Electromagnetic Weapons: Directed Microwave Energy « Fear Of Lightning
A powerful EMP generator, to disable (temporarily) stereos in my neighbors house.
you can kill the speaker by overloading the wattage; as lightning isn't readily available, you could try constructing an EMP gun... and zapping it... but you'll want a way of rapidly making it disappear if people start noseying around.
have fun, but it's probably easier (and healthier) to move...
555..some good suggestions here.
The wife's village-speakers crank-up around 6.00 each morn with a nice mellow female singer harmoniously rousing you from your state of slumber..then followed by about 5-10 mins of 'village news' from the headman..this I could accept as Issan-life.
BUT, last year it all changed!..the mellow music got replaced by pre-recorded CD's which had been given by companies wishing to advertise..this would have a man or lady rattling-on, giving the hard-sell for about half hour..Oh FFS!!
(I think we all know this system will have had financial benefits for the head man).
ANYWAY..the village got pissed off & after serious words by many folk the H.M. he has reinstated the pleasant music + a bit of gossip to kick-start another Issan farming day. So many times the Thais just accept what's going on around them..it's good when they finally think 'hang on a minute, we're not 'avin any more of this'..Many thanx to the p***ed-off villagers.. :-)
^ more the case of them thinking "fuck him getting money and not giving it to us".
All quiet on the western front today - So either they took the hint (doubtful), only planning on doing it at weekends (likely) or it was just for a special celebration (probable). Will leave it to the end of the week before I decommission the "noise avoidance" scheme I put into place.
In case anyone is wondering you can buy thermite in Ban chak
