Thanks for the information but I am only intending to raise poultry,( my be a few pigs ) growing what ever we can eat and the wife will knock out any surplus.
If she makes a few quid it will obviously be all her doing,I would of done the graft but will take no credit for it.

I have every right to provide for my own family on the wife,s land and do not expect to attract any attention from local business.

I a very tiny fish in a large lake.

I would'nt sweat it Dave. Planning on something similar when I get there too young to retire but cant do much real work over there without a permit. Mostly be the wife's doing with the money making.

That,s it mate all down to her when people ask questions.

Its a lot sturdier with the metal wheels attached to back wheels though, fucking glad I bought them.

Aha ! that will be the old cage wheels , I used to bolt them on during the winter to stop sinking in .

Take a tip from me Nigel, ship all your gear here then sort out what you do and don,t need.Wish I had done that and let the wife flog anything not needed,still live and learn as they say.

Yep know what you mean mate ,, I have a friend allready in the area Nam som and he is a tidy mechanic knows his stuff , he has told me the same ,, cannot buy a bastard tool worth having wished hed brought his over

Yes the cage wheels,but I still managed to get the Bastard stuck needed the uncle to rescue me with his Ford proper tractor!

If you don,t mind me being nosey Nigel,does your mate actually live in Nam Som and is that close to where you are planning to build.

We pop up to Nam Som now and again usually if the kids are unwell,supposed to be better doctor up there.
I took the wife,s wave their once going the longer way along the Mekong to Pak Chom,then cutting up through the mountains.
It was a nice run but to be honest I was fucking lost till I got into Nam Som.

Yup he lives in the village / town Nam som and no my missus land aint there ,, we are over the other side of the main Udon / Nong Khai road go through Ban Dung toward Phon Phisai direction then out in the sticks you will come to Ban Pak .

Its only a small now and again place mate where our rubber is , shall be living down in Cha am most the time ,, I like me strolls on the beach

I wanted somewhere near the coast to start with, but the land is just to expensive for me.
Our building plots about five rai,for what we paid would have been lucky to get quarter rai plot probably smaller.

You got the right idea though,strolls along the beach very relaxing and enjoyable pass time.
I should be able to do the same this time of year strolling about on the Mekong sand according to the wife.
Just a shame this year all the sand has banked up on the Laos side!.
