The new Ranger looks good, the 3.2 is due at the end of the year, price over 1mb.

Still think I would go with the Isuzu Highlander 3ltr auto with GPS for around 950,000b
Shame that Izuzu went to all that cost to build a new model but kept the old drivetrain.

Does that include the three DRZ-400s at Red Baron (at least the three on their website- two are supermotos)? They're priced from 245K to 310K- no idea about the book, but they're one of the more reliable dealers (though they're on the pricey side as a real book can add 50K-80K to the cost).
Yes Ive seen the ones at Red Baron and the prices do not include a book, Decent bikes but way way way over priced.
The one that is listed for 310K says it comes with the registration book- the other two don't mention it. I agree they are all expensive.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

I've seen a heap of them - more than the ford. I think the farmers like Mazda as it has 4WD available in 2.2 L (making it about 100K cheaper than the ford 3.2 4WD).

    RED BARON BANGKOK : PRODUCT : 05 DRZ400SM

I see nothing mentioning a green book, but then my reading of Thai is a little bit off. even still I would not pay that much for any of them 240k with a book is my limit and what I think is a fair price for a 2008 model not 2005.

My wife translated it and said it comes with the book. Those bikes were available brand-new for around 300K a few years ago in LOS- I'm surprised they're still so pricey. At least the one in he link has a few decent extras and it's low mileage.

I have recently looked at purchasing this thread but have a few questions before moving forward.

1 - Can the screen be changed from blue to orange?
2 - How much to add a picture of some blokes in tight rubber stuff?
3 - Will the wife agree to buying it?

I was there just last week. All of them have plates so registered. The older one has around 100k in extras in it and heaps of power compared to stock. As someone said proper book with necessary taxes etc paid and recorded in the book will cost 60k to 80k easy.

With Red Baron you pay a premium but in return get short warranty or free labor for service etc and most importantly you get proper book. Vikrom's been in business for decades and is your best bet with second hand imports.

Also expect the supply of imports to dry up now when they are all over the customs and grey importers of cars. Add factories manufacturing now in Thailand means there is no competing with second hand imports. Most of the independent ones are already bringing only new big bikes that are not available locally.

A numberplate does not equal legally registered and considering the premium charged one should get more than a "short warranty" seeing as they they want more than the new price of 2012 bike (in Australia) and these 6 to 7 years old.

As I said before if they aint shit bike's with dodgy books they are way overpriced.
There is a yellow 2005 Dual sport DRZ here in Pattaya, I offered the guy 180k for it before he decided to sell and it has now been for sale @ 200k for nearly 3 months, granted it does have a "legit" book but even it is overpriced at 200k and will for sale for a while.

I quit my search for an ATV after finding only "Chinese," versions for sale. Are KTM made in China now?

5 - Would 12 months be enough to make a decision?

In Red Baron it does, all three of them have books included in the price. And any kind of warranty for second hand bike is good. If you know any other in Thailand who does this let me know.

180k for sure get's you shit bike with 10k dodgy book. Pattaya is full of them, probably 90% of the bikes in Patters are with recycled book and altered frame numbers. All these ex rentals. Other end is Red Baron bikes where you pay a bit premium to get decent bike guaranteed by them and legit book.

As for comparing to AUS prices you'd better give up beer and smokes as well. You know ciggies are double here than in Indonesia and beer for example is much cheaper in Phils...

Does it all make sense? For me not much at 180k or at 300k. I'd go with something brand new and factory warranty. There's the Ducati above and also Yamaha and Honda have imported models now below 500k range. For lower end there's loads of second hand Kawa's around. Just picked up a year old D-tracker for 115k myself.

    1. - No. If it could, I wouldn't sell.
    2. - Free, and infinite space to do so.

I never have and probably never will buy a water pump. So far everywhere I have lived in Bangkok the water pressure has been o.k. 95% of the time. From time to time a water main will burst then no one gets any water , pump or not. Also, on the weekend the water pressure might be a bit low but not a major problem Instead we just have 4 water butts ( one in each bathroom and 2 out the back ) and if a mains burst we just use a very low tech plastic ladel to bathe with. No sweat.
