Thai Gifts for your Friends back Home

A thread for people to make suggestions on suitable gifts to take friends and neighbours back home after your Thailand holiday, and here is my first offering that will make you the most popular person on the block.

Have you got any black neighbours with kids? Take them back one of these lovely dolls, they don't want poxy white barbie dolls, they want a big darkie doll with great big lips and stuff, you know it makes sense.

Got a sexually confused friend, not sure if he wants to be a lady or not? Buy him a nice pair of plastic tits to try out, you never know his gayness might even be cured and he will burn the tits once and for all, it happened for blue, he is now fully cured.

Now these sandals are cool, and cheap, all your mates will want a pair for the summer this year, get erm now before they become fashion items.

Pink for you Sir? Did you get those plastic tits you faggot?

Female friends seem to love rice cookers, they don't seem to be widely available in the uk.

Be prepared for the rubber glove treatment at UK customs with that one.

I was gonna say something boring like Thai Silk Elephants

How about an enormous, badly put together wooden motorbike and a six foot Hello Kitty. Some idiot must buy them because they're always flogging the monstrosities.

It's called 'Darlie' these days- the long arm of the PC crowd has quite a reach.

    Lighter/Switchblade combo was popular...

Giving someone a "Rolex" at the airport works wonders...

All the latest copies of handbags/purses for the ladies...and the Thai styles, too...

Elephant keychain ornament with suicide pill pocket...these will put your luggage overweight...

The latest eyecatching toy/gimmick always catches their eye back home...the smashed tomato and assorted jelly characters which resume their shape is the latest wonder...

My favourite has always been the wooden croaking frog...but a "pistol" crossbow is good conversation...

    Good thread, DD...

I posted a kilo of grass to england in 2004. And it arrived no problems.

Had to take a couple of precautions to keep the dogs off it (ammonia rubbed inside) but it took just a week.

Well there is no better gift than one which gives the full sensory experience of the country you have just visited.

How about a nice board of dried rotting fish.

Interesting post. Is there anything in Thailand worth hauling home to give to your friends?

Authenic Thai food is very iffy. Most people are used to the "westernized" (read sweetened) versions of Thai food.

Thai clothing (unless novelty clothes) is generally of low quality.

Perhaps amlets are the best gift. They are small, varied in price, and make a good conversation piece or momento.

I have several that have been given to me by my Thai relatives (although I consider them more than momentos).
