Finally seeing our dollar making a move upward in the past few months.
And the poor Euro going down.
Will they meet?
Or will the Euro die?
Opinions?

^Shhh.............don't jinx it.
The Dollar is mostly moving up against only the Euro and the Baht. The Euro has it's problems, and the new government here is pushing Thailand into the same spend and borrow hand out programs which have bankrupted Europe and the USA, which is why the Baht is declining.
The Dollar is still down around 77 Japanese Yen.
The current uptick in the economy in the US under the Obama administartion will have to odd effect of causing the value of the dollar to actually drop against the Euro. This is because of reduced risk encouraging investors to move out of dollars and into investments in devloping countries.
Never mind the fucking Euro, how much higher can the Aussie $ possibly go?
Got a stash of Baht that needs to go back to Oz, but at 33 baht to the dollar today...Fuck that.
Just wait until the Euro governments start trying to mend the situation again.
About March isn't it.
Watch the futures boys run for cover.
when greece defaults.
who cares, as long as the dollar gets stronger vs the baht
and the GB pound too
Dollar keeps bouncing around against the Philippine peso. Up a bit one day, down again the next. Pain in the ass trying to schedule when to dash to the money changer.
I think the real question should be how much longer is the Euro going to exist as a currency.
a lot of this depends on growth
and there isn't much of that about
europe will have to learn to live with high rates of unemployment
for the unforseeable future.
greece now wants a 100 billion euro debt written off.
so that it can borrow some more.
New highs almost everyday for the dollar vs baht.
New lows for Euro vs baht.
Now, why didn't I wait?
I almost ALWAYS get it wrong. (seems so anyway)
greece, spain, portugal and to some extent
france and italy are summer holiday destinations
with a recession hitting most countries
people in the first 3 will have major isssues to deal with
as many from n. euro will stay at home for their holidays.
this may create a split in the euro
as there is little left in the kitty to fund other bail-outs.
keeping greece on board looks suicidal
and when it does eventually default
the sand will hit the fan.
