    Tai Deung

A friend of mine who is a long time Thailand resident and former university instructor tells me that there is a version of Thai spoken in Korat called Tai Deung. I've asked around and no one, not even Ms. B, has heard of it. My friend says that he often finds Bangkok taxi drivers from in and around Korat who know all about it and who explain to him how it differs from Central Thai. It is supposedly a derivative of Central Thai and not Lao as is the case with some other dialects spoken in Isaan.

Can anyone enlighten me? Perhaps those of you with Thai partners could ask them about it?

    TIA

I'm Thai and when I was young I live in Korat, yes Korat is not Lao and differ from central Thai, but i don't know how to explain to you. there is a Thai singer "PongThep Kradonchamnarn" or พงษ์เทพ กระโดนชำนาญ he is real Korat and his song is Korat song, I think you can try to listen to his songs. ^^

Yeah, what happened to him? He was one of the few American members who didn't embarrass my nationality on a regular basis. Always good, solid posts despite his misanthropic tendencies.

Since you are a Thai speaker I hope you will help me.
I would like you to write, in Thai, the following words:

    1. Por Bor Tor 4
    2. Por Bor Tor 5
    3. Por Bor Tor 6
    4. Nor Sor 2
    5. Nor Sor 3
    6. Nor Sor 3 Gor
    7. Nor Sor 4 Chanote

As you can see they are the types of Thai land titles. I need to have them in Thai writing.

I hope that you can help me. Thanks

It appears that he was offended by some Belgian Felchin' Cappuccino drinker. I won't mention [you know who you are] names. We all hope he comes back as he is one of few true gentleman that keep this site semi respectable.
