This is a brilliant book. It's pretty archaic in its examples, I think it's actually older than the Old Testament, but I've yet to find a book that explains grammar and reading better than this one.

You'll just have to live with the transliteration used, though the book wastes no time in starting to use actual Thai.

I learned Thai from that book. Which is probably why I can read it but not speak it.

I learnt from that book, if you start with that book aint no way you can try another as the transliteration is so different to all others.

That's true, but I reckon the transliteration is closer to real pronounciation in that book than in any other. The AUA book has got to be the worst.

Appears to be a good book, and after learning all the other transliterations there are, it looks easy to pick up. Downloading now ( I think) so i can read it any time.
That Website Down loader is doing my head in though, but I think I've got it sussed.

I have this problem, I enjoy decoding Thai; I can't speak it for crap though.

Benbaaa great link, thanks. What's the best way to go about printing the whole thing off?

The guy who published it for free has this interesting web site:

    Speak Real Thai

Not a lot of content, but perhaps more realistic examples of every day spoken Thai.

(I like the fact that he uses a large font size for the Thai script. Even this old man can read it clearly!)
