   | Vientiane That Dam, the black stupa That Dam or the black stupa as it translates is on Chantha Khoumane Road near the center of Vientiane, not really worth going out of your way to have a look at it although it has many legends about it. The first is that it isn't renovated due to anybody working on it dies shortly after working on it, also it is supposedly built on the cave of a 7 headed dragon, in 1827 when the Thais invaded Vientiane the dragon supposedly helped the Lao people, so where did all the gold leaf go that these stupas normally have?
