| condition of Thai coral reefs viewed a show the other evening about the condition of the oceans & coral reefs around the world. From the Gulf of Mexico to the Great Barrier Reef pollution is damaging this resource. local pollution & agricultural run off are responsible for the coral degradation. Fertilizer is a big issue .. Huge 'dead zone' at the mouth of the Mississippi due to agricultural run off. what are the reefs like in the andaman sea? Is any of Thailand actually on the andaman sea? straits of malaca? would include Krabi & perhaps Phi Phi. Gulf of Thailand? I have always avoided Pattaya's water & never been to Samui. Phuket's water seems to be rather clean, but I doubt one can see excess potassium. I'd hate to see an analysis of the Chao Praya's water .. I do not eat prawns in Bkk because of the prawn farms in the Chao Praya's flood plain. ![]() |

| not as clear cut as dopey implied & my original post " straits of malaca? would include Krabi & perhaps Phi Phi." the statement of the post "Krabi" is verified by the 2 maps could not post links due to low post count .. see next post & perhaps Phi Phi as well .. per my post the "any of thailand on the andaman?" was posed as a question. a question mark demonstrates that the poster does not know. & phuket >> rayong on the Andaman as per these 2 maps is not 100% clear cut .. thus a legitimate question was posed. both maps show the strait to extend past the northern end of sumatra. ok cartographers, where does the strait end? latitude. Thailand occupies the northern Malay Pennesula where does the Malay Pennesula end .. Isthmus of Kra? (for dopey, a question mark indicates the poster does not know!) a kethoy is one who pretends to be what it is not I posted, " a legend, much like a kethoy is a woman" dopey is to legend as kethoy is to woman |

| another map: http://www.chinapage.org/map/malacca.gif & my from original post " straits of malaca? would include Krabi & perhaps Phi Phi." 2 maps show krabi to definately be on the strait in both, phi phi / Phuket appear to be on the strait the "any of thailand on the andaman?" was posed as a question. a question mark demonstrates that the poster does not know. & phuket >> rayong on the Andaman as per these 2 maps is not 100% clear cut .. ok cartographers, where does the strait end? what latitude? sumatra definately acts as a barrier island to indian ocean currents for the entire western coast of the thai south Indian Ocean Wavewatch III (Stormsurf) & why the swells are better the further north on the thai coast one goes. | Hifalutin Member | Foreigner, mate I'd have a bit of a look on Google Earth - Google Earth They have shitloads of layers on there now, and you'll easily find good dive site info for Thailand on there. It also quite good for finding reefs and info on how to get to them. I'd check it out if you have time.
