    Japanese warshrine problem

this great big fuss between Korea, China and Japan,

every year the Japanese president/prime minister visits this shrine which honors hundreds or thousands of war dead (or a number of this order). 14 of which are war criminals. - this annual visit is causing annual international problems.

the next prime minister in line has promised not to visit - no doubt this is causing some domestic political problems.

Maybe its an easy solution - can they not just digup the graves of the (presumably disgraced warcriminals) and place bury them elsewhere ?

or is this solution too easy? or is there something else I'm not getting?

The problem is that Japan still (generally) denies that they were the aggressor in WWII.

Of course this doesn't sit well with China (PRC) or Korea.

As much as they complain, however, they readily accept Japanese investment.

There's a word that begins with H that eludes me....

I remember when Reagan got criticized for placing a wreath at a military cemetary near Bitburg. Big deal.

The butchers in Beijing use it to stir up anti-Japanese sentiment when it suits them.

It shouldn't be any of China or Korea's business how Japan honors their dead.

That's their own business. It's an internal affair of the nation involved.

It may be offensive to the rest of us but we don't have a right to tell their leaders how they may conduct themselves while in office.

    It's much ado about nothing.

I just don't get it for cryin' out loud. Spilling sour milk about dead people. It should be remindin' people of the atrocities the criminal commited .... people shouldn't want to forget about that stuff.

In the case of Japan I suppose it has somethin' to do with Zen ... or Bushido ... or whatever.

They were tried and convicted .... put to death ... paid for their crimes.

I think that the correct term is "bukkake".
