Well a good thread and many things to contribute and discuss but, seeing the thread being turned into a drivel of shit by the master Idiot (Texpat) and his soul enlightening posts mentioned above, I don't see that happening. No! not in this thread and not in issues.

I like how the author sounds so "fair" in the first two paragraphs and in the third paragraph he pours on all sorts of outrageous unfounded accusations and sentimantal bs. Quote:

| What was the point? If one has read more than one or two threads on this forum, it was obvious that on this topic CHN, Ant and Butterfly would take the anti-American position and Texpat would take the pro-American position. Why go through all the trouble? Amazing how pigeonholed so many posters are and how tightly they follow their chosen doctrine. As there any critical thinkers here? Can any posters see both sides of an issue and appreciate the nuances? I don’t see it, especially the leftist posters here seem to be overly influenced by their party’s propaganda and are unable to think outside the party line. Ok, we know CHN, Ant and Butterfly hate GW with a passion and oppose each and every one of his policies, so what? How many times do they feel the need to express the same hatred? KW “as English philosopher Edmund Burke once said, ‘The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.’” Fair enough, you can hardly claim I do nothing. I am currently working in a socialist country helping the country understand and use market-based economic policies and business practices, I also write on issues of importance to me and yes, I often criticize US government policies. I love politics and can discuss it for hours. But what use is it to repeat over and over the same one-sided arguments? No analysis, only propaganda. I can hardly stomach watching news channels in the US, which usually consists of two individuals, each given about a whole minute, on both sides of an argument advocate for there position using selected information and data. That Ok, but what about some objective analysis that goes along with it? I am amazed at the close-mindedness of intelligent people when it comes to political issues these days? I don’t remember it being so in days past. Political discussions these days are fueled by hate and emotions. Bush bashing and rejecting out of hand any liberal position seems to be all most are capable of. Waste of time arguing with these kinds of people. How can you argue with people who are hate-filled and who ignore all available evidence and still believe socialism and force is a better system of government instead of democracy and freedom? How can you argue with some bigoted people who claim all Muslims can not be trusted and should be treated with contempt? |

| That attitude is no different from a terrorist's, who blows him/her self up along with some innocents. Do Americans have the stomach for this kind of attitude?? If it is as you say then why do you guys moan the hardest of all when attacked?? Why don't you do your self and America a favor by shutting up?? |
