A thief has broken into a man's house and just killed his wife and children. The thief points gun at the man who shoots and kills the thief. A man strangles his daughter to death with his bare hands because he caught her dating a Westerner. same? | |

IMO, It's not tactical, and not an effort. This stoning is bad behaviour. You're blaming the people who think this is bad? I'm confused, Obs.

| my government kills humanely or without cruelty or unusual punishment (poisoning). another government simply allows the person to me killed by the methodology that is quickest or most deligtful to the agrieved. still another allows for public and gruesome methods in which the public can participate in the killing. i dont see significant moral differences in the above examples government sanctioned killing. are we really taking solace in the percetion that we, the west or nonmuslim countries in this case, are more civilized, sophisticted iand more highly developed in our methoology? we in the west like our state sanctioned killing sweet and socially palatable. so we spend years while the convicted awaits a real verdict as to sentence -- that is very often rooted in the socio-economic status, race and gender of the convicted. and if we kill'em we do it clean, careful and with a nice protocol. with respect to texpats point above -- he is correct, they are not the same. i am referring to the taking of life subsequent to law of whatever land we are discussing. |

| I'm not a Christian, but if there were a branch of Christianity today that stoned and murdered 5,000 people a year in the name of honor, I feel quite sure the other branches of Christianity (and the rest of the world) would step in to stop it. It's called lunatic fringe and must be kept in check by the mainstream. All religions have it. And no, Obs, before you start hyperventilating, the US government isn't Christian. |

| Same Muslim woman in different settings. She is dressed appropriate to the occasion. Seems her Muslim husband is of the same mind as Machangezi regarding her choice of head wear. BTW, she is one of the many who condemn Muslim's who kill in the name of God. ![]() ![]() ![]()
