The VP of Air America and husband of a Dem senator is busted in a prostitution sting. Failed radio show I might add.

The husband of U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow told police he used the Internet to make a date with a prostitute (identified as Alycia Lorraine Martin) and paid her $150 for sex at a hotel, according to a police report.

"The police report said officers observed Athans enter a room under surveillance and leave 15 minutes later."

Another thing. Why is activity between two consenting adults illegal? Even if we need these laws to express 'moral outrage', why are they enforced? Don't police have anything better to do? This story reveals more about the lack of personal freedom in the USA than it does about the moral character of any political party.

I think this election has been a very good one; the stakes are higher, people are paying attention, turnouts (at least for the dems) have been higher, coverage has been more detailed and the sheer length of the democratic campaign has led to a lot more turning over and re-turning over of critical issues like health, race, war, gender, the economy, the future, all are being discussed at great length to the point of collective soul-searching and that's a good thing, at least. It's still a good political system, what the US has (despite recent Executive attacks on the Bill of Rights, imho, a very important document in human history and development). Plus it's definitely entertaining
