| Cutting Prices Won't Save Windows Vista Here is another article on Microsoft's failure with Vista. Which leads me to the question: is Microsoft on the verge of that "Downhill Slope" eventually leading to another leader in the market? Will it be Google, or Linux? I look at Apple as being only a fringe player, because of their inability to give up control over their system. Apple is the Sony BetaMax of the computer industry. Quote:

In all honesty, Microsoft is getting very close to tipping the scales where it is going to begin losing market share. And usually these things are already in full motion before they are recognized. I use pull out trays for my hard drives. By doing this I can use more than one OS on my computer. On my downstairs computer, I have Linux as well as XP. Unfortunately, I have not spent the time with Linux as I should. But I am going to learn more about it in the near future, because I believe Microsoft is not on the cutting edge anymore. It's just one bloated bundle.

| Have a good computer with multi OS - Win98, WinXP SE and Vista. I think that WinXP is superior to Win98 - IF you use networks. But Vista??? I want to run an appication and not an OS! Will delete the Vista OS partition and use it for better things. |

| Here is what I do, and I find it to be the most flexible system since storage is so cheap now. I have two exterior hard drives, where I keep all my music and files I wish to preserve. I have a 300 gig HD that needs to replace one of the 160 gig backup drives. But on my two computers, I have pull out drawers and trays. They are quite inexpensive, and remove the need to use multiple OSs/partitions on any one drive. Moble racks are quite inexpensive. Then I just use one OS for each drive. All I have to do is just turn off the computer, remove the current OS, and insert another one, and turn the computer back on. That way I don't have to make a choice between which OS I want to use every time I reboot my compter. I absolutely hate to have to keep hitting keys every time I restart or reboot the computer. It's a total waste of time. |

I have deleted VIsta OS and went back to the trusted XP, runs faster and with the new XP SP3 5508 it runs and runs, no need for a bloated OS that needs triple the resources of XP. ![]()

| If you have an authentic, legal copy of XP, and it is out, you can upgrade normally. I have my XP set up to notify me every time there is an update, and I can decide what I wish to download. Can't remember if SP3 is already out, but I have already updated everything, except the latest IE, which I can't stand and Never use, so I don't bother with it. |

| ^ As to torrent finder, you could use "Bit Che" from Convivea - Home of Bit Che - Torrent Search or the Torrent Harvester, both of them letting you find a torrent and then checking the website or download direct. As Torrent loader I use uTorrent which has a very small footprint compared to others - also I do uncap the (in Thailand) normally capped download speed (capped by the ISP's that is). Any questions to that I'll be happy to answer. |

| Microsoft gives the software world nothing but planned obsolescence and bug-ridden, over-priced, condescending bloatware. You have to go no further than to sample the free email services Hotmail (Microsoft) and Gmail (Google) to see the qualitative differences between these two companies and their approach to meeting users' needs. Google has a free web blogging tool that lets you post text, photos and even videos, and it only takes a few minutes to set up from your Gmail account. I'd put my money on Google as the future of software just because any product I've ever used from them is user-friendly and stable. If Google ever designs a PC operating system, Microsoft will get buried. |
