Much as the US Marine rape accusations (three of them) that each turned to dust, I'm interested in following this case.

Remember the non-rapes, Aunty? Remember the blaring headlines and the spotty details, the international outrage -- which turned into something sinister, but far short of rape?

I'm similarly interested to hear the outcome of this case.

Please speak up Ms Jones.

I have no expectations. Please read the thread.
I've said her case has quite a few holes in it, but I've not said outright that she is lying. I'd like to see the case tried.
I've also said I'd like to know what happened to the rape kit and witnesses and other factors that seem spotty.

And yes, I've searched for news on this case: can't find any more recent than has been posted here months ago. Aren't you curious as to the truth or did the negative press sate your interest?

You might want to be more careful with your wording then; your post above sure makes it seem like you do.

It is was it is. I'd be interested to hear how all this turns out but I'd hardly classify it as a burning desire. Negative press? That's entirely subjective isn't it, I hope you don't expect me to defend a position you're inventing for me.

so if your wife, daughter, mother or sister were treated in this way, would you still be clamoring for the story to be back on the front pages?
if any of the above settled out of court with halliburton or another negligent company what would you say to those bleating 'come out, come out wherever you are'?

If it were my wife or daughter mother, I would standing on the highest mountain calling for those bastards' heads. And I wouldn't stop until I screamed my lungs out or everyone stopped listening. But before I started my rampage, I would make very sure of all the details.

Ms Jones has gone quiet. And I can't imagine why. She went on worldwide TV once (ABC or NBC?) pleading her case. It's not like she's hiding. Why have all the incensed journos given up? Why didn't this case have any legs?

Something doesn't add up -- as I've said from the start. This doesn't mean I don't believe her story. I just want to know what happened.

Agree. Seems the whole thing has gone silent. Either the case was dropped, settled out of court or still pending. None of these reasons have sufficient sensational content to prompt the media to report on it.

These were all civilians. The alleged perpetrators, the victim, the management, the attorneys, the journalists.

I'm not cheering at all. When someone makes such harsh allegations, I'd like to see justice done. If they did what she claimed, I'd like to see 'em punished. If the facts aren't what was reported, someone needs to set them straight.

The reason it has gone quiet is due to stalling tactics by KBR, which is appealing a decision to allow the case to go to court, as opposed to private arbitration:-

KBR’s response to Jones’ lawsuit -- and to the lawsuits of several other women who claim they were raped and sexually harassed by male KBR employees in Iraq -- was to move to dismiss the claim on the grounds that employment contracts required all employment disputes to be resolved by private arbitration....
That’s far more convenient (and less costly) for KBR than a public trial.

Jones’s lawyers argued that being gang-raped was not part of her job description; the company can’t call that an employment dispute subject to her contract’s mandatory arbitration clause. The federal court agreed. “This court does not believe that plaintiff’s bedroom should be considered the workplace, even though her housing was provided by her employer,” wrote U.S. District Judge Keith Ellison.

Apparently, KBR disagrees. In June [2008], the company appealed that decision. Jones will now have to wait even longer – months or perhaps years -- for a decision on whether she’ll ever get her day in court.

A former employee allegedly raped by co-workers at the US war contractor KBR has sued the US government for negligence. The plaintiff, Jamie Leigh Jones, says she was drugged and gang-raped by co-workers in Iraq. Jones has accused KBR and the US government of covering up the crime. Jones’s earlier lawsuit against KBR is pending.
