Experts, analysts, advisors for investing, security, personal coaches, marriage counseling, Dr. Ruth and Dr. Drew. Advertising tell us how to be happy and sexy, and pharmaceutical companies are constantly on TV with new drugs to buy and use every day. I stopped watching TV a few months ago. It's been helpful. I visited the U.S. recently and many people cannot think for themselves. Their ideas are of others.

| In my research I came upon an article about the latest thing, baby name consultants. They can't even name their own kids without outside help. What next? Quote:

| Are the Americans really that bad at Geography? It would seem that apparently not, those who know about 'Facebook' may also know of the 'Traveller IQ' application? There are a grouping of different Geography IQ tests in the application with the most important being aptly named, 'World Challenge'. The good ole' USA has an average of 104.9 with 51,376 tests taken. Where is Australia in all this I hear you cry? Well I'll tell you, they average a mere 104.4 with 19,138 tests taken, 8 places behind the US Maybe it's the Aussies who need to brush up on their geographical knowledge. Knowing where the nearest beer shop is just isn't enough! Anyway, living in country 'X' does not automatically make you stupid, unless you are Welsh. |

| When I was seeing a shipping agent in LA a few years ago,I was asked by one of the senior staff why we were not onforwarding cargo from Lyttelton to Christchurch. Now Lyttelton is the Port of Christchurch and is a bit like saying why cargo is not onforwarded from Bangkok to Bangkok. This person had 10 years experience in the industry too.Unbelievable!!! |

| Sex mad as well as stupid eh? US drivers who paid scantily clad women for a "topless car wash" were furious when they discovered all the car-washers were men. Male drivers felt they had been duped when scantily clad women lured them to the carwash, holding signs advertising a $5 topless carwash. The women directed drivers to the charity carwash - which was raising money for New York school clubs - and promised all car-washers would be topless. Shirtless male firemen then emerged from behind a blue tarpaulin to wash the cars. Mike Matias, who was conned into paying for the service, said: "I was hugely disappointed, but at least my money went to a good cause." |
