Exposing the Real Che Guevara and the Useful Idiots Who Idolize Him

"He’s the ultimate symbol of radical chic but was Che Guevara really a homophobic, racist square who personally ordered the jailing and executions of innocent men, women and children?"

He also hated long-haired dope-smoking Hippies and didn't much care for rock & roll either!

Mao himself wasn't entirely bad either

And Stalin was a fun guy to be around if you liked to watch movies with him

Your point again ?

Your link doesn't work boonie- it opens, but no Che article.
Anyway, to put things in perspective, I think Che is more of a pop art symbol of defiance than an actual figure of personal veneration. A radical chic icon if you like, but usually given the Warhol treatment.
He was a babe magnet though.

I watched the whole of that film, The Motorcycle diaries and thought - hey this guy has got the same nickname as that guy on all the posters.

it didn't click until the writing at the end.

Idealizing this scum bag is on a intellectual par to putting a Serpico mud flap on your truck.

I also found that film "Motorcycle Diaries" disingenuous propaganda by disguising who he really was.

Oy! Boonie! This thread has been done before, and if I remember rightly, you started that one too.
Regurgitating political threads. Shame on you!

I wonder if he ever won beard of the year.

I think Mike Gatting did once.

If anything, by pointing out that he was a Doctor from a middle class Argentinian family who actually had little in common with the 'oppressed masses' I would have thought the opposite was the case. Neither do I recall a single political innuendo or statement in the film. Nor do I recall any reference at all to this Che' being Che Guevara until a footnote at the end.
Beautifully photographed film though- I enjoyed it.

Che just rode on Castro's coat-tails. He appeals to the romantics "Doctor from wealthy family gives it all up to help the down-trodden of the world".
He was a lousy revolutionary when it came to military operations, totally inept. But, he was a doctor, not a soldier.

He'll be remembered for the iconic image you see on so many T-shirts, not his accomplishments.

In fact, I wouldn't be suprised if he won both Beard of the Year and Cigar Smoker of the year in the same year.

The onyl other man to have achieved this historic double being Rolf Harris
