    Crown Property Bureau

Found this on the otter forum:

Asia Sentinel - Thailand's Royal Wealth

Everything from "sufficiency economy" to Bo Bae Market, Suan Lum night Bazaar, Temasek, Central World Tower, to foreign ownership through Thai nominees, the financial crisis and the latest coup - all is revealed.

And check out the comments section!

    Can't say more here.

A very interesting read, Hootad. Can't say I'm surprised by anything like this any more. In the UK, every single piece of land ultimately belongs to the Queen. A freehold means you have the right to sell the land you have bought (and anything on it), but all property reverts to the monarchy if there is no successor. Most of central London is actually owned by the Duke of Westminster. Now, there's some real estate.
The truth is out there, but then I'm stuck in here.

I don't see the conflicts of interests. Another morale crusader journalism.

This bureau uses its power to force others out without scrutiny or crititsism. The media has effectively been silenced on this issue. It also participated in the Shin Corp share selloff to Singapore. How is that "rubbish" or "sensational'?

Are you saying none of this is true? How can one particular group having monarchical, financial, political, military and power to muzzle the press not have "conflicts of interest?"

Most Thais are blissfully unaware of the massive holdings of the Royal Family and the CPB and the role that this wealth played in rehabilitating the monarchy in Thailand. I wonder how long before this particular article gets the axe?
