| I wouldn't worry too much about it. He's gonna do it anyway, and if he's got his wits about him the risk is pretty low. Uncle stroller says: don't carry anything on your person and stash it outside your bungalow. Oh, and don't turn up at illegal after-hours night spots high as a kite. |

I think your referring to the one on the mountain. I have never been there but know about it and places that are isolated like this tend to protected as they are away from the public eye. The thing is, that if me and you know about it so do the cops and they've done a deal with them for protection. What used to happen was that the cops would contact the owners and tip them off that they were going to raid the place and then all the drugs would be moved away from the premises leaving nothing when they arrived. This way the cops could say they where doing there job and be accountable to the powers to be. There are places that are safe to smoke but one must be in the know.

| Oh Fuk | As the law is harsh for possessing drugs, you have to be a little bit stupid to possess anything It is no good saying the law in Aussie or Uk would not treat you like that, he is living in Indonesia, so has to abide by the local laws he must be especially stupid if he was singled out by some previous business connection, he should have made sure he was clean if there was any risk of being fingered

A shame if true. Any truth to this.

| I can't speak for KPG or other places but I know someone on Koh Chang that was caught with about 1 gram of pot. There was no attempt at a bribe or extortion. They went through the courts and ended up with a 10,000 baht fine and were not deported. A funny side story to that is that on the same day another farang who owned some bungalows was caught with a small amount as well. After the cops had left one of his staff went into the bungalow to clean it and discovered one of the cops forgot his gun there. After a phone call he was promptly released without charges. |

| Sundance is my bff | Things have changed drastically. I just spent the last 30 days with my pot-smoking 20 year old son (who's also a top Uni student, so don't add any nasty comments), and we did the stoner Island tour etc., and the whole place is basically locked down. We drove there and it is a shadow of its former self. Cops routinely get 90,000 Baht to shake down offenders. KPG cops are the richest in Thailand. |
