    Bumrungrad Appointments

I've been going to Bumrungrad for years now. I always use their web-based appointment system and am used to quick confirmation. However, I've been trying to get a dermatologist appointment for several days now and no one replies. Went on their web site. Sent e-mail. Nothing.

I'd call, but I'm severely telephobic so that will have to wait for Ms. B. Anyone else experiencing similar difficulties. (The appointment problem, not the telephobia.)

While I agree with the overall idea of making an informed decision when taking medical action with anyone...I do feel this site portrays Bumrungrad in an overly negative light when you compare it to other hospitals in other countries. Ive read about complete medical disasters in a multitude of hospitals that should never have happend including the USA, UK etc...people dying from such simple things as a broken arm have occured in the UK or just recently a girl died with cancer who was subjected to massive overdoses in radtion treatment, and other reports of Drs removing the wrong kidney etc etc etc all recent and in the UK (not to mention the outbreaks of MRSA, Legionares disease in hospitals here)....

Be wise, but lets not be on a wtich hunt either.

Well, Hootad, thanks for your post.

Perhaps you can help me with an alternative? I need to find a dermatologist who is skillful with mose surgery and who is experienced in treating caucasian sun damaged skin with actinic keretoses and basal cell carcinomas.

    TIA.

Hospitals and medical care are rather atrocious in the USA.
Overall the care I've received at Bumrungrad and the Bangkok Phuket hospitals has been superior. There are faults and communication issues sometimes but you don't encounter the blistering arrogance which USA health care professionals convey so often.

Oh yea as far a appointments at Bumrungrad go I've always just walked in and received prompt service.

not sure if this is a typo or some medical condition which I've never heard of...

I always use BNH and have never had any problems with them...what I really like is the signs everywhere which say "If you have been waiting for 15 minutes please contact the receptionist again"...15 mins...Great!

    Sorry, it's MOHS....

And, I just called and got an appointment. Must be something seriously messed up with their web-based appointment system.

Give the triage nurse a slap when you go there. She's fucking useless.

As are Thaivisa.com - this thread got deleted after 50+ posts (after the mods woke up, I guess):

Hopefully, a TV mod will explain why, very soon...

    Or maybe even PP himself.

    An appropriate smiley, I thought.

i found Sumvitewy to be very good - but i wouldnt call them cheap (mine was all on company insurance so i cann0ot complaign)

personally I found Bumrun to be a little too much of a production line....

having said that the missus needed dental treatment today........

a cavity some cleaning xrays other bits and bobs = 2.5 million rupiah !

WTF????? that about 10.000 baht!!!!! OUCH! I was used to paying about a 1000 baht or so at bumrun and theres a very good dentist clinic on soi 19 (just past honey hotel!)

just my luck that she develops a toothache 4 days after entering Indo!
