| Insuring the old trout for a month My dear old landlady from Darwin has decided to visit LOS for a month in January. She's 63, smokes like a chimney, drinks like a fish and swear like a trooper. An all round good un. Any suggestions or recommendations on TRAVEL INSURANCE for her. She wants fully comp. and insurance wherebye she just gives a card to the hospital and they claim the money from the company. NOT, she pays up front then claims it back when she gets home. Any thoughts? Yes, I've looked on the net and there's loads. Who to choose? Cheers

| My 85 year old Mother just about fits your landlady's description and I just purchaced her travel insurance with her ticket.. Now, I know this doesn't fit in with your payment preferences for treatment but I think that you are looking at it from the wrong angle because payment methods change from hospital to hospital NOT insurance company to insurance company.. as each individual hospital has payment agreements directly with the companies... I travel wordwide and this is MY experience anyway..Where will she be visiting?? If payment terms are critical then why not ask the local hospital if they have any payment agreements with any specific insurance company?? Of course this is only reletive to small payments..If she needs an expensive operation the hospital should deal directly with the insurance company.. |
