| Warts n all Just got back from the village hospital. For 6 years I've had an annoying wart on the little finger of my right hand, on the palm side. No comments needed about self gratification, wanking etc. cos I'm left handed. Anyway, I bite the bugger off every now and then, the wart that is, but it always grows back. Went to a doc in Aus. and he blathered on about some ointment for weeks blah blah blah. Charged me $40 for nothing. Stuff that. Local hosi, local Doc, and bit of Bentadine and a sharp knife. 2 stitches later and its all done. Total cost 230 baht, plus a bucket of drugs which I'll bin. Plus 1/2 an hour ogling a delightful young nurses ass. What a top place Thailand is.

| Cos I know you all care........ the local anesthetic has worn off now and it all feel fine. I'll have a look tomorrow. Change the dressing and whip out the stitches in 4-5 days. Wish I'd got some photos. ![]() |

| When I was in university I had quite a few on my fingers because I used to weightlift everyday so I went to the school clinic. Once every two weeks they would have someone who would freeze them off with cotton bud dipped in liquid nitrogen. I went to that clinic for five treatments over quite a long time without much success. The problem was every time I went I had a new doctor; they alternated doctors so no one had to do it all the time. One week a male doctor would press down hard killing many of the warts. Then following time I went for retreatment a female doctor would do the same thing not pressing as hard and so not killing them. This went on over weeks without getting rid of the warts. It was ridiculous treatment. So I finally said screw it and turned on the gas burner on the kitchen stove with a fork held over it. I drove one prod of that fork deep into each wart killing the skin nearby too.(I wiped the black off the prod from the smoke before driving it into my skin.) Then I took nail clippers and cut out the dead skin and heated up a fork prod again and drove it into the hole. I permanently got rid of all the warts on my hands this way. They never came back. The lesson I learned is that doctors can't always be trusted to do things at the same level of quality and that getting rid of warts by yourself can be very easy. Next time I won't hesitate to use this technique. |
