| Human Water Requirement Calculator The average person needs 2 to 3 liters of water a day in a warm/hot environment. More if you exercise or do physical work. Under hydration can lead to kidney problems, hypertension and a whole lot of other associated problems. |

| Thanks to all for the comments. As for water, I drink at least 4.5 liters per day, in large part to ward off gout, which I have been able to do so b/c of this water intake and also some great advice (thank you, kmart) on using 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in the AM & PM to alkalize my blood. Today, I went for a walk. It's a start. Thanks for the replies. I am reading every single one of them. ![]() |

Serious. In good mood. Things are good, all-around. I think I just am bored by doing the same thing for so long. But now is not a good time to change (economy). | |

| I like the way almost everyone has rallied to support Milkman's problem. Even though we bicker at one another, we can still be humane when helping a fellow in need. A good blood work up might show what is going on. Not too expensive and done at most any large hospital. |

| Dr Andy, true. I can change my attitude. I think that's a part of it. Panda, Thanks. I have been drinking this much water to try to ward off gout. But I have increased my sodium intake (VNese fish sauce, which is very salty.) And I get sodium with 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in the AM and PM. Perhaps I am drinking too much water. I do drink beer almost daily, but it fluctuates, and I drink 1 cup of coffee per day. |

| "Eating local Asian food about 3 times per day in small amounts." Living on local Asian food is generally a good idea, but I discovered long ago, when I was living mostly on a Japanese diet that if I ate beef once or twice a week I felt a lot better- stronger, more energy. Possibly B-vitamins or something.

| 'Depression' is not necessarily a 'down' thing -- people that feel 'happy' can be undergoing depression. That's good, but doesn't mean it's not depression. Quote:
Not saying that's what it is, but don't discount it just because you don't feel 'down'.
