yeah i get the spread when im not in the uk, and wearing flip flops, my feet are far healthier than when im here wearing safety boots, wellies and trainers, i got bare foot as much as possible when here to try and even things out

Absolutely. Bare foot as much as possible but thongs/flip flops for when the goings a bit rough. Always drive barefoot, car not bike.

The best for the feet is barefoot, but if you're used to wearing shoes you will notice problems when you switch to flip-flops unless you're lucky.

Personally, I hate sandals and flip-flops (my sandals give me blisters because I wear them so infrequently) so trainers or shoes are the way to go for me.

Not in the UK surely? It's illegal I thought (rightly so - less control than wearing driving shoes imo).

yes in the uk its illegal but cops arent likely to go stopping you for no shoes on are they~? the flip flops are to hand anyways

Hey, here's a good one for you all. Last year, I had a business associate visit me in Thailand. We spent some hours walking along Silom during business hours. After a couple days of this, my friends says to me "have you ever noticed how Thai women have round toes, rather an elongated toes as western women have?"

This kind of caught me off guard, because yes, I had noticed that, especially on my ex-wife. We then spent another few hours looking at all the Thai women toes to see if this theory was correct. It is mostly correct. And, because there are so many flip flops or open toe shoes worn by Thai women it is easy to verify.

So, there you have it. Another cultural revelation only available on Teakdoor.

I think you get more control driving barefoot as you can grip the pedals with your toes. Still, it is against the law in a lot of places so there must be something in it. personally, I slip the flip flops off the minute I climb in the car.
