| Whenever I visit the US I put on three or four kilos and this trip is no different. Everyone wants you to eat and drink. I figure I consume twice as much food and alcohol on a Stateside visit as I do at home and this trip is no different. Even though I workout every day (only missed two since I arrived) I still pile on the fat. So, when I get back to Korat on the 7th I'll be doing my damnedest to be even more of a loser than I am now. |

| Ok brothers. My name is Jaiyenyen and I'm fat. 6ft and 124kgs. I won't kid myself that I will ever go to the gym, because I've got zero willpower. But I do want to buy an exercise machine to use at home, what would you choose, eliptical trainer or exercise bike. Please bear in mind that it will probably double as a clothes hanger after a few weeks

| Jaiyenyen, Not to be overly negative here but if you can't find the motivation to go to the gym any sort of home gym equipment's likely to go unused as well. At least it did in my case, ended up giving it away |

| The secret to sustained weight loss is to be consistent but take it easy, not go to hard or deprive ones self of all pleasures and aim for the gym every 2nd day. If you go to hard and try and go every day you will burn out quickly. Also important is to work out with other people so the motivation level remains high and also the eye candy helps but it must be combined with a realistic diet and sensible food choices. Home gyms seldom work unless you are very highly motivated and committed so its much better to spend the money and join the company of others. I was very fit before my last trip to thailand but put on foking 4 kilo and now have to work hard to loose it, I must admit I'm struggling at the moment as I'm used to being in shape and feel like shit when I put on a few kilo.

| Sundance is my bff | Yeah, but what do you do when you've really lost the plot for about 3 years, balooned up 20 kilos, haven't hit the gym in 3 years, and you were in great shape your whole life? And, you just woke up and realized you're an old fart over 50. It seems overwhelming to get back in shape sometimes. |

Yeah J, ME! But if you wanna be lazy about losing weight then the way to do it is through portion control, instead of eating three large meals a day eat five small ones. You'll get hungrier quicker, but then just eat something small again. simple. Low carbohydrates too, lesss bread, less rice and less pasta. And once again, don't worry about getting hungry again soon because you can eat another small portion again. Also, you'll literally feel your tastebuds return too. | |

You can do it. I started out so disheartened and feeling hopeless and now I can't wait to get to the gym. You force yourself to go for sometime and then it becomes routine and finally you can't miss a workout. You feel down if you do.

| ^ I'd approach it this way, You can say to yourself , O'K I'm now a fat bastard, I'm just going to go with it and fok it, i don't care anymore. Or you can say, I really want to live to my full potential, I used to be fit, know how good it is, how good I felt about myself and ill give it a good crack to regain some form of fitness. If your retired you have the time to get yourself back into a reasonable shape but you should get help, go slow and be realistic about it. Go see a dietitian is #1, start walking # 2, join a gym and do some light weights is # 3. Age has got fok all to do with it but food intake and not drinking piss every night is essential to the game. Don't deprive yourself of a drink but be realistic and cut back, maybe take up sport wanking or something. Good luck mate. Start walking tomorrow. |

| Its a mind game as we all struggle to drag our sorry arse of to the gym but every one agrees that once you have finished that exercise one feels brilliant. Fok me dudes, you guys got all these gorgeous Thai spunks to look at whilst your working out and thats got to be a top reason to get down the gym. Besides that, one might crack on to one. |
