Neighbour had it done in Canada. $10,000. She had to go back for a reshoot, but says it's good overall.
One prob in Thailand -- enure they think you live there or it might not be as good work. When I lived there, I had to take back defective glasses, suits, etc, to places that thought I was a one-off tourist.

The top quality places in Bangkok or only a little cheaper then the west. I had mine done a few years ago at LASIK | Laser Eye Surgery | Bangkok | Thailand | Asia TRSC, the largest and most famous Lasik center in BKK, by Dr. Ekktet, the founder and perhaps best known Lasik surgeon in Thailand. There are other good places and well, including Bumrungrad I think.

TRSC is in really nice offices and is run first class and efficiently. Not cheap though, my Lasik was about 60-70,000 Baht. A lot depends on the very expensive latest generation machines they use. They give you a choice of machines, and the result with the better machines increases chance of perfect vision.

One warning. Lasik accelerated night vision problems for me, and I have trouble driving at night now and with bright lights at night. Also, it won't fix eventual need for reading glasses by all people.

Absolutely, good point...if you're buying goods or services that can go seriously wrong make sure they know you live here so slipshod work or cut corners will end up costing them several times the savings they make, if only in the form of bad publicity and backhanders to the appropriate authorities.

Still no guarantee against the mentally and morally insensitive, but better than giving them your passport and return ticket for safe keeping.

had it done 2004 xmas at bangkok pattaya hospital along with my mate.
mine 30,000 baht cut circular flap and lasered eye. mate had 32,000 baht lasered direct onto eye ball no flap cut.
    no complaints.
in aust they advertise $2500 an eye.And you can do an online application and take a loan out to cover the operation on the spot. strange if you ring them and ask where they trained guess where thailand.

LASIK improves vision safely and precisely by reshaping the cornea to correct nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism. Vision improves within minutes, and most patients eventually enjoy 20/20 vision or better after treatment.

I actually had it a couple months ago and the result to me was amazing
with their financing deals for my lasik surgery . I don’t need to wear glasses anymore, I had an eye surgery in Lasik-1 by Dr. Stephen B. Wiles one of the leading eye surgeons today. The healing process was fast because they used an advanced technology and state of the art facilities. The site wwwDOTmy2020DOTcom might help you to understand about Lasik and if you have some other question related to lasik that one might help you. God bless

Had mine done 1993 back when it was fairly new in Australia, so the price is irelevent. Did one eye at a time, vision was perfect could see goosebumps on breasts at 100 metres. Have strted to wear reading glasses in the last couple of years, but long vision and night vision is unaffected as yet.
Not sure of the name of the place on Asoke, but they have been doing for a long time, wife had treatment there an was very satisfied.
Must agree with Jet also, no insurance cover here for crappy work by medicos, they even want new laws to ban the threat of litigation for sloppy work.

My wife har her eyes done at TRSC more than 3 years ago, with excellent results. Not cheap, but with an operation like that, one should go for the best of what is available.

^ Rutnin, as already stated, in Asoke is the best place so I hear.

They might be busy this time of year though, I phoned them early December and they never got back to me

I think it depends on your prescription to how much it will cost

I had it done 10 years ago at Bumrungrad and my vision is still perfect (and no doubt the procedure has greatly improved since then)- finally being free from contact lenses was fantastic.

Get yourself a pair of high quality yellow tinted glasses. Really helps cut the glare - along with a clean windshield. I also wax my car's glass with a polymer and it cleans during rain better, too.

I, too would not hesitate to recommend Rutnin - a specialist eye hospital with modern facilities. Very busy and not cheap.
I was very happy with my experience there last year especially after misdiagnosis elsewhere
