Some medical care in Thailand is excellent
Some medical care is very affordable even without insurance
I have not posted for a while and was banned from the other forum for being too outspoken, where I used to post under the name al007, I posted extensively on my own experiences with both prostate and colorectal cancer
My cancers despite annual medicals and hospital visits were missed by thee doctors, one MRI and one CT scan
I am posting today since a dear friend of mine from Norway, had been a patient of a large national chain of hospitals in Thailand, averaged 200,000 batt plus per annum over five years, had MRI, s and saw several specialists
For a variety of reasons he returned to Norway a couple of months ago, he was about to come back for another check up when he wife suggested maybe he go to his local hospital, in Norway, they uncovered stage three cancer and he was dead in a matter of days
This had all been missed here in Thailand
I want to say what I personally do to try and see this does not happen to me a second time, I have a colorectal surgeon, an oncologist, a chemo specialist, and an urologist at chulalongkorn in Bangkok, In KhonKaen, I am enrolled in the palliative care part, I have regular tests at three monthly intervals, I chart my own results, and understand them, I constantly question my specialists, something unusual in Thailand, many treat the doctors like gods and question nothing, I am due two more MRIs in december, I have a prostate specialist in India, as thailand is behind, my colorectal man is top of his field world wide
So far some three years into these cancers, and 13 hrs on the operating table, a colostomy bag, a lot of chemo, and continued monitoring I am doing pretty well; I have declined to have more surgery, and also decided to have no more chemo, all carefully thought out, I have a great deal of knowledge on these matters and will willingly help or advise anyone facing some of these problems, if appropriate either email me, al007@live.com or send me a private message. I have referred a few people to my Prostate surgeon in india, and my oncologist and colorectal surgeon both in Bangkok
