@topper - best of luck to your wife. I hope all goes well. I had a colleague who was in a similar situation - she had a myoma removed when she was in her late 40s - never had kids. After the operation, she rested from work for 1-2 months (can't remember exactly how much leave she took). Apparently myomas are more common among childless women, since the uterus didn't get used. But it can also be a genetic predisposition.
@baldrick - thanks for your concern and your kind offer, but I'm afraid I'll have to decline. :) I have a yearly checkup c/o my employer, and the results of the last check were optimal. I'm in good health since I regularly jog & hike. If you would like to hike with me in 8/9 or 9/9 mountains (with knife edges or kiss the wall parts) let me know! Of course I'll have to inform Loopy dahlink but I'm pretty sure he'll be OK with it. :D
