Do you find yourself thinking about food more as you get older

I need to find a way to switch it off.

Nope. As Davis said, I think a lot less about it. A lot less fussy as well. It's just fuel.

I've never met any people from anywhere in the world like Thai's when it comes to food. Even when they're eating, the conversation is often what they'll have for their next meal, and what they might have for a snack before then!. Nothing wrong with this of course, just saying they really love their food and thoughts of eating are never far away. How they can sleep for 12+ hrs straight without having to eat is a mystery .

^Flippers are the same. Possibly worse. I think it comes from eating rice at every meal, which leaves them hungry again quickly.

I think it's a middle age thing for the sensor in your body that tells you when you're full to start malfunctioning but i can't find the news report about it. Losing appetite at old age is a different matter.

Thinking a bit more, I'm not sure I think about food less now that I am older. I never really thought about food much. I never ate breakfast, and always ate two small meals a day. No snacks. Always sufficed. Nothing has really changed.

No. I don't think about food more now than when I was younger. The same.

If my wife eats Western food then she says she feels hungry again quite quickly afterwards and has to eat again. I think it's more to do with what the body is used to.

I noticed when I turned sixty I found myself actually eating two or three squares daily and I feel great.
I get in a good dose of veggies and fruit and will substitute yogurt-fruit smoothie for lunch.

Obviously I'm not having sex every day.
Strange how one's priorities change as one gets older - food before sex !
Sadly my priorities when I was younger were in the wrong place but I'm very fortunate I did not partake in drugs, alcohol or gambling on a daily basis.

Ten years ago I couldn't skip a day without any sexual pleasure with another or at my own leisure.
(I simply could not sleep in a hotel room alone.)

I'm the heaviest that I've ever been in my life though I try to exercise six days a week and would be considered by most to be in great shape at my age but no longer playing competitively.

Don't worry about eating - just remember to eat nutritious food (or eat sensibly) and try to get regular exercise to burn those calories and feel good about yourself.
Eat an apple or orange and let the other person take the last donut.

It is not that I think so much about food as I get older, but I do think more about the quality. This might be due to the fact that food in Thailand seems a bit one dimensional here, but in the west there seems to be more quality along with choice. I have definitely experienced more quality meals when I get outside of Thailand than I ever did in my earlier years when fast food ruled my life.

My personal feeling about food is that I enjoy a good meal as often as possible, but I don't think about it all the time. I have had a few quality meals in Bangkok, but it is difficult to find something like that throughout Thailand.

I just enjoy the shear freedom of choice available, and I make use of it, every few days trying something different that I haven't had in a while.
At the moment I am into Corn beef hash with gravy.

I haven't eaten corned beef hash in over 40 years...

The last time 25 of us went down with tummy rot, which is probably the reason why.

'Orrible stuff!! I need to run off and be violently sick just thinking about it.
